They'll be ready with alternate Dailies and shops open.  Whether port fee refunded, who knows, not consistent.

What a sight with all the ships anchored together off the island - does not looked like there is any tendering at all going on ... no inter-ship crew transfers yet, imagine the logistics alone.  Then, there are the issues of provisioning for the extended voyages to bring the crew members home (bless them) ... I supposed if they cross the Panama & head west on T/A to Asia, they can probably stop in a more friendly country/ports in Mexico to load up extras (majority of the crew tend to come from various Asian countries)   Looking at probably 20+ full days at sea with weather, fuel & speed matrix.  

 

By now, it should be pretty clear & obvious whether any crew members had been infected (even if someone was asymptomatic & exposed last month, somehow) ... if they have access to tens of thousands of C19 field test and anti-body test kits to administer onboard their fleet of ships.  

 

In other mariner's news, something about a 3rd. US naval ships with sailors testing positive ... our mightly military has yet to come up with an effective strategy onboard, just saying.

This may be a silly thought, but perhaps there is a monetary savings by leaving the port of Miami.  

Surely there is a daily port fee for using the pier space, and GSC being the cruise line's private island, free$$$ parking (at anchor) until they need to go back to re-provision??

Not silly, probably true.  Plus I would assume that if they are all in one location, they can share crew and either get provisions "delivered" or use a single ship as a shuttle if necessary.

POM fees waiver for ships berthed there, up to port's max capacity.  But, I'm sure the lines still have to pay for shore power, water & other essential services while docked there.

Southwest of the island chains is another cluster of ships ... Grandeur of the Seas, Celebrity Silhouette & Reflection, Summit & Infinity, Explorer of the Seas & Mariner of the Seas.  It is a floatilla of ships staging in that area.  

 

Interesting that Royal's ships aren't docked at their own private island next door to GSC ... probably for good reasons, just in case.

Maybe they are pooling so each cruise line wouldn't have to send a half full cruise ship to India for example.  Would be much more efficient.
