I saw my refund on the online credit card statement today; it was dated May 21.  Included cruise and air.  I"m in the USA.

Hope others see credits soon,

MHF

Congrats!  Good to see some come through for us in the US.  seems like 60 days is the time frame.

Hello everyone -

Some trickling of good news!  In our quite unscientific gathering of data her, we are tracking 44 requests for cruise fare refunds:

  • So far, 10 have received refunds.   T
  • For those receiving refunds, the average number of days from request to posting on credit card has been 69.8 days. This appears to often include several days between process date and date it appears on the credit card
  • The average of the other 34 (those not yet receiving refunds) is 51.5 days; this includes 7 who requested refunds 70 days ago or longer
  • REMEMBER:  This data is only as good as the reporters.  And some may have received refunds but not reported back to us. So please update us when you have something to report.

Bottom line - it looks like the 60  (calendar or business) day estimate is not quite being achieved.   But the next week or two should give us more data to look at.

Had filed a dispute with Chase on May 5th for two amounts - a deposit and the cruise/air.  Received notice this morning that the deposit amount ($2,032) went from a conditional credit to a resolved credit this morning (20 days).

Of course the big amount we're still waiting for ($28K+) hasn't moved forward at all and it appears Chase "lost" the faxed info we sent on May 6th because we received notice Saturday asking for everything we already gave them.  So yet more phone calls tomorrow because apparently the Chase Dispute dept., like Seabourn, is not working over the weekends now either.  😞

As far as undisputed claims with Chase for FCD's, I called Seabourn on Friday and was told that we "should see it" by mid- to late June (we requested they be refunded March 24th).  I asked if it could be expedited and was told that unless it was for medical purposes or due to a job loss, they would not move us to the head of the line, so to speak, even though they are holding $32K of our money "hostage" right now.

So that's our news.  Baby steps I guess but only because I started a dispute through the credit card.  Nothing directly from Seabourn or HAL.

Filed 5 different disputes becasue of several different payments.  Got notified by Chase today that two of the 5 disputes had been settled at their full value so happy about that.  The other 3 disputes still in work total about $2K but, most of the money is safely in my chase account and have already requested the dollars be sent to my Credit Union Account so  about 86% of my money has finally been returned.  Sure the dispute hastened the return of the money and sur the balance will follow soon.

I do not think I will be updating the chart with data from people who filed with their credit card companies.   All this would indicate is the policies and price of credit card companies and there are many variances among the many cars companies.  What I am interested in is how long it takes for Seabourn to process a request.
(rhetorical question: how does the added requirements on Seabourn to respond to credit card inquiries delay the normal processing of customer refund requests?  No way we will ever know)

Most are over 70 days for refunds.

Not defending anyone but...

yes most who received refunds saw them  74 to 79 days. But  it appears there are 4 to 6 days between Seabourn sending the adjustment and the credit card company posting.  So that takes it to 70 to 75 days. And if -as some were told- it is 60 business days, 60 business days would be approximately 74 calendar days.

Again , small sample size.

Lucky them.

As you can see, I am at 88 days for both my tax and air refunds (as is swaxxy for air)..

Ah, 60 Business days is 84 calendar days plus any holidays ((60/5)*7) or 12 weeks plus any holidays

Happy Hoppies just posted this on the other board. I do not see them on the list but they should be added.

Refund received .... we had booked and paid in full via a US Agent  to sail on Encore out of Sydney on March 22 .... Seabourn cancelled us on March 14 and we requested the full refund option on March 17 .... never heard another word or any confirmation other than the Pop-Up that confirmed we'd submitted a request ... and then 67 days from request the refund appeared on our Credit Card direct from Seabourn Cruises .... a great relief ... so hang in there, it appears the wheels are turning, just very slowly!

Congratulations Swaxxy!  Your set of circumstances matches ours in terms of dates.  So maybe there is some hope for us as we patiently wait.

I thought swaxxy was quoting Happy Hoppies rather than receiving refunds?

After 79 days  was told it was being  prioritised  and should be paid into my credit card in the next 17 working days ie 3 1/2 weeks. I am not holding my breath.

Thanks for the update. It really isn’t good. That will take it over 100 days. Was that info direct from Seabourn or TA?
Just a thought Seabourn should be offering FCC on top of full cash refund in an attempt to keep their loyal customers and encourage future bookings.

As Seabourn cancelled our cruise they gave us 100 pc refund and additional 25 pc fcc. The fcc was on my Seabourn acc  within the week  but the refund I was told 45 days , then 60 days , then was told soon and the latest was yesterdays estimate.  We were looking to rebook our cancelled cruise for next May , The FCC was  approx £1200 but I notice the fare for next year has gone up by £750 so it is not worth as much as you think. It was all via our TA . Once you book with a TA Seabourn will only deal through them

I am only out $1500.00 in a deposit for a cruise I cancelled on March 23 for November.

I have received refunds from Oceania and Celebrity, which were both cancelled on March 29 but nothing from the luxury lines Seabourn or Crystal, yet.

Luxury - an interesting adjective 😀

Just spoke to Seabourn and the refunds to the credit cards used were processed on 5/27.  He said it can be 7-10 days for the CC (Amex) to process but at least I know Seabourn has done what they need to do.
