After refund fiasco, why would you ever consider Royal again?

Think about how much time you and your travel agent spent simply trying to get your money back. How many calls did you make?

Why would anyone do business with a company like that again? I certainly won’t.

I’ll find more joy doing other things with my money.

Currently with P&O we are at day 56 from cancellation and still being expertly fobbed off.

I have 4 RCCL and 1 Princess cruise booked.

During the worst of it when I couldn't reach by Big Box TA, I booked the cruise myself online, then transferred it to them.   I did this twice.

Instead of wanting things "my way", I try to adjust and find a way to get what I want within the confines of the new situation.  How'd that work out?

1 cruise cancelled with a full FCC for the non-refundable deposit

1 cruise booked for the same ship, etc, but in 2022

1 cruise booked online myself, and transferred, with free premium drink package, free tips, and free wifi

1 cruise booked b2b with one I already had booked, for 23 nights total

Got lemons?  Make lemonade.

For RCL I rang C&A D+ who cancelled our cruise for us as it was 2 days before final payment of our June cruise and got our June cruise deposit instantly put into a FCC.

For P&O(Carnival Group)we are still waiting for a cash refund after 56 days and the stories/excuses change every call.

Considering all the circumstances, RCL has addressed the issues satisfactorily in my opinion.

My guess is that is not an RCI cruise. Am I right?

I guess I’m one of the lucky ones. Royal cancelled my cruise at the end  of March and I received my refund April 19th the day I was set to cruise on Harmony.

Now if I haven’t received my refund at this point I’d still be okay for a little while longer but come June I’d be getting irritated.

The ones that they have in the evening don't need ketchup. They are really good. I love how various themes flow in and out of CC threads.😊

If someone mentions not getting a refund on their prepaid gratuities,  we can turn it into a tipping thread.😨

How, in 2020, can an international company not figure it out?

If timely refunds were a criteria for choosing a cruiseline, one didn't need this pandemic and its associated cancellations to realize RCI was not a good choice.

I promise you on Tuesday evening our TA called me and said Royals people advised:

Just wait a few more weeks and see what is actually refunded.

I tried Royals social media team Wednesday and they won’t even discuss financials - see attached.

It’s laughable the way some of y’all jump to defend RCI cause you don’t like my tone.

I am surprised that you don't understand how booking with a travel agent works.

The travel agent actually owns the reservations.

It has been like that forever and always.

Exactly (and one of the reasons I won't use a travel agent).

Always used an agent and never had to contact cruise directly, so I did not know that.

Not the best way, IMO, to do business.

Thanks, Elsa!
