Hi

So we got these two offers from HAL the other day and we are thinking of doing both and just paying off this cruise by the end of the month for the additional 10% discount.(All has to be purchase by end of May) It's a Big savings for us. Big question is will we be back sailing again by 2021?  We are booked on the Koningsdam for January 16th for 17 days.

Any thoughts about this. Have any of you also got this offer? And what do you plan on doing?

We look forward to seeing you on your upcoming cruise! In appreciation, we invite you to participate in a very special offer. Between now and May 31, you can choose one of the following ways to receive up to US$250 onboard spending money to treat yourself to specialty dining, spa services, gift shop purchases, beverages and more. Five questions really.

-will the cruise be operating

-will it have the same itinerary as it currently does or will ports be skipped, changed etc.  If so does it matter to you.

-will you want to book the cruise if there are on board restrictions-facemasks, distancing, whatever

-will you feel safe cruising at this time.  If not, will that unease impact your enjoyment of the cruise?

-do you feel comfortable giving more money to the cruise line knowing that if you cancel it could take months to get monies owing to you returned.

I will be  pleasantly surprised if that cruise takes place.

However,  if you believe HAL will survive and if the offer is refundable in the event of cancellation....why not?

There was a lengthy discussion elsewhere, basically if I remember correctly the 20% bonus on the gift card needed to be used by 12-31-2020

Here it is:

Promotional gift card expires on 12/31/2020. Gift cards may be used for purchases on board Holland America Line vessels or applied as payment to a Holland America Line cruise booking. This card may not be redeemed for cash, unless required by law. Purchases made on bonus gift cards are non-refundable after 12/31/2020. Bonus gift cards are non-transferrable after 12/31/2020
