Regent Refund Roll Call

My refund for cruise cancelled April 1 credited to my AMEX today. This was for Singapore to Dubai cruise in March 2021. Will not take another cruise until vaccine widely available. Certainly not the end of the world for us.

Deposit and charges for Regent Choice excursions posted to my AMX card 5-13. AMX is sending me a check.

 

Deposit charged 8-19, excursions charged 3-20. Requested refund 5-6 of both and posted to AMX 5-13 minus $100 per person and $175 per person custom air fee. Deducted amounts applied as future cruise credit.

 

One week from request to receipt. Please don't shoot the messenger.

Following would be a new posting on this Thread. 

 

On 10/2019, made deposit for Navigator 10/2020 BtB NYC-Montreal-NYC cruises.  Final payment would have been required by 05/11/2020.  Due to a family health situation not related to COVID-19, had to cancel this cruise (through our TA) on 04/13/2020. 

 

Just reviewed my UA VISA CC account.  As of today, account was credited for all but $200.00 of that deposit.   (That $200.00 has become a FCC.)

 

S0--it was a month turn-around time to get that deposit back.  Still waiting for refund of our fully-paid Regent-canceled 03/14/2020 Splendor cruise.

Refund request date:  2/20/20         

Deposit only refunded (15% of total fare):   3/8/20

Remainder of cruise fare refunded (85% of total fare) :  5/15/20

Voyager CPT RT and CPT-Rio  Dec. 22-Jan 5-19 and Splendor Mia-BCN RT (Canaries) Mar 25-Apr. 8-18

May 13 I received credit for all deposits to my AMEX account.

I love my TA and Regent right now - what a quick turnaround!

I canceled Crystal the same day for the fall; haven't heard a peep.

They seem to be doing much better at sending out refunds for deposits.  I am still waiting to hear of any significant number for cancellations of fully paid cruises.

Cancelled cruise - Splendor 14 March 2020

Requested full refund of cruise fare ($34k)  15 March 2020

To date (15 May 2020) - nothing received

 

Also requested reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses to get back to Switzerland - $15'500 in total for the flights and hotel.   Regent has all back up requested.   So far - no refund.

5/6/20.    TA Called Regent for Update.  Told Refund was Processed Yesterday.

5/7/20.    Refund Appeared on AMEX Account.  AMEX Wire Transfer Arranged for Transfer to Our Bank.

 

42 Days from CXL Confirmation to Refund. 49 Days from Initial TA Contact with Regent

 

I have realized that this cancellation was before the final payment/penalty date, so  I moved it to the Deposit Only tab on the spreadsheet.  If it was a refund requested after final payment was made, please let me know and I will move it back.

It was one month after final payment and cancelled one day before the %50 penalty date applied.  We lost our deposit and received a refund for the remainder of the fare,

Here is our info....

scheduled sail date 6/30/20
cancelled excursions 4/24/20
cancelled cruise by Regent 4/24/20

Full refund requested 5/4/20
no refund as of 5/16/20

 

We had not made the final payment, the cruise was canceled days before that was due.  Initially we were told we were only eligible for FCC for our deposit.  Then on May 4th, we were told that policy changed and we were eligible for a full refund

Filed credit card dispute: 5/5/20

 

SusieQ thank you!  Refund received today 5/19/20. 

 

Coincidence or causal effect after we filed dispute with our credit card 2 weeks ago?
