If you have 28 cruises booked it's going to be full time work for a while keeping track of cancellations, refunds, FCC's, re-bookings etc.  If that's a "cruising lifestyle" it doesn't sound fun.

 

That was the point I was making.  Too many people posting as if their opinion is fact.  Opinion, guess, WAG...it is something we all do, and is natural speculation.  But facts are facts.  It's too confusing for others to have those posts that are acting like it is official...when it's not.  Yes, my opinion is the same as most, very doubtful that cruises will resume in August....but state it as "my opinion" or "IMHO"...or "I think"....or "my guess".  Otherwise post the link that shows the actual facts. 

 

Right now the actual cancellation is until July 31st.  I still have to wait to request my refund for my two August cruises...when the official statement comes out.  No one can do that based on an opinion.

Yes they were going to start with 8 ships at first In August.  Not Royal but here is Carnival's new plan

I wonder if they are holding off to see if the second wave is sooner than later, or maybe they don't want to be first and will start at the same time as the rest? 

 

Who knows, time will tell to what their plan is.

Wow, you really know a lot about me don't you?  Or so you think you do.....  🤨  I am waiting to request my refund for my two Alaska cruises, but cannot do so until the OFFICIAL statement of cancellation is posted.  Anything other than that...is just guess work.  

 

I have reservations for land based stays already in Alaska for the first two weeks, spending the month of August there.  Those resorts are open and ready for us.  I am just waiting to book the the final two weeks for a stay in Homer to replace the B2B Radiance cruises that I am "IMHO" expecting to have canceled.  So no...you don't know "where I will not be going"after all do you.  😉

When you say they "were" going to start with 8 ships in August, are you saying that currently that's no longer the plan?

Am I misreading something? The way I'm reading it, it appears that 8 ships including Dream, Vista, Elation, etc are only cancelled until July 31

You're reading correctly....8 ships cancelled through July including July 31st. To me it means, Sailing starting August 1st with those 8 ships.

Hi Pat! If I was listening to some of the folks here, probably not.....but, "IMHO" I believe you and I (probably Bucky too 🙂 ) will sail together again soon enough! We just booked 2-21-21 Harmony with our Casino Prime certificates, so that gives us three harmony cruises coming up, hopefully. Aug & Nov. (Yes, I did type August. Ha! ) It's the 30th, so we'll see......Have a May Mariner also....

The 8 ships from carnival out of Galveston, Miami and Port Canaveral are still scheduled to sail August 1st. 

 

Reading the above replies seems like many are confused what carnival announcement says lol

Good to hear from you Bill!  🙂  Wish we could join you on 2/21/21 Harmony, but we will be (hopefully!) in Australia doing an eight leg bucket list trip on Serenade at that time.  

 

Harmony for this November...2020?  We are on (once again hopefully 😉 )....November 29th.  And the really iffy one for October 4th.

Carnival has not cancelled the 8 ships that are out of Galveston, Miami and Port Canaveral. They are still scheduled from august 1st.

 

Just trying to stop rumours. 

 

Hope you get all your 28 cruises.

Yes good point but Royal has been doing this for a while.  Virgin Cruises is a virgin (no pun intended) in the cruise industry.  I'm sure they are waiting to see how big of a train wreck this will be before they sink their ship.

At least Carnival is giving more information then Royal or Celebrity.  I feel like Royal just wants us to continue to give them final payment knowing they won’t sail.

Just a B2B JS for us as well.  But if my previous cruises to this one keep getting canceled as much as they are...and this one still goes...going to use that "saved" money to upgrade.  😉
