Toad Posted May 27, 2020 #1 Share Posted May 27, 2020 My Dad is 96 and wants to cruise again. He was looking ata cruise on the Independence. Do they have any cabins with handicapped bathrooms? He needs bars by the toilet and preferably a walk in shower.
DaveinCharlotte Posted May 28, 2020 #2 Share Posted May 28, 2020 Yes, the Independence does have a handicap cabin - just one, though -#213. Ditto for its sister ships, Star and Spirit. Not sure just how it's equipped, but the square footage is much more than the other cabins. Leafing through the catalog, it appears that every ACL ship has a handicap cabin. Good for your dad to want to do this. On our last cruise, one of our favorite dining companions was a 96-year old WW II vet.

Tinknock50 Posted March 4, 2021 #4 Share Posted March 4, 2021 Anyone know if any of their ships have roll-in showers? I have heard that only Harmony does......and the rest have a 5" barrier.
