I couldn't agree more.  The desserts taste like wax on every cruise line. In the past I just ate it not to be wasteful but now I'm over it.  The kids in the third world countries will still be starving whether I eat it or not.

I completely agree about the desserts. I agree about the kids, too.☺

So I pretty much disagree with your entire post except the last 17 words.😐

What do you eat up there🤔

I take it no CFA in Rhode Island?

It's addictive, and don't get me started on waffle fries and peach shakes

I’ve never had a Chick-fil-A or eaten in CK .  I carry an iPhone on-board for pics .  Ordering on one in WJ would be mass chaos especially on embarkation day .  I like the WJ because of the variety. The MDR is repetitious.

You are in such a terrific location . Lucky you and Laura.

So no CFA up in New Hampshire either. Thats sad

That is actually one of the aspects of the Windjammer that find very appealing. I have trouble sitting still for very long. I like getting up from the table and walking around to see if there is something else that I want to try. Sometimes I even leave something that I want just so I'll have a reason to get up again. I guess that is at least part of why the MDR does not work for me.

I'll graze, and its ususlly disappointing, but im a slow learner.

Good idea for a live review though.

Life in the Slammer, I mean Jammer. 😉

Symphony does crepes next to the stir fry in the back. Overall that's my favorite jammer

Just take the robotic bar tech that has an order entry system and make a plate or meal to pickup with just what you want, no need for phones, just a tablet or touch screen with throw away "touchers" or peel away screen protectors

There is a CFA at the Mohegan Sun Casino but I have never tried it. I usually go to the casino for the buffet.

I don’t live in NH , now . I’m a resident of America’s Finest City . That would be San Diego .  Not many RCI cruises sail from here .  We have many beautiful beaches but I don’t have your advantage of beach living .

We have CFA .

I was thinking they could set up a conveyor system like a sushi-go-round

I forgot about touch screens on robotic bar

Not interested in KFC or McDs.

Five Guys, In and Out and Portillo's would be better in my opinion.

Have KFC here in the Philippines, they are allowed indoor dining already, easy to have healthy social distancing.  Filipinos prefer seafood.

I like the variety in the Windjammer.  I check the menu in the MDR & if nothing appeals, I go to the windjammer.  Easy peasy.  I know there will be changes when I cruise in October.  That only makes the cruise a little more adventurous.  I'm kind of a picky eater & usually like plain food (few seasonings or sauces).  I can always find something to eat that is good on any ship.  I do wish they would bring back skim milk, though.  That has been a disappointment.  I try to stay away from fatty & salty foods so I'm pretty careful what I take.  I do splurge on 1 desert & I am addicted to the soft ice cream (1 or 2 cups a day).

It's pretty good for a fast food place. Fresh, tender, tasty. Mohegan Sun was the first place I tried CFA and I went back for more the next day.  Still the best as I tried CFA in 2 other places and while they were good but not as good as Mohegan Sun.

I  confess - we have gone for crepes dessert in WJ  on Symphony.  ( are crepes only  Symphony  - I cant recall?)  That dessert is  much better than any MDR or most CK desserts.   That is why I wrote "Rarely"  in a previous post - dessert crepes.

Not just Symphony. Adventure had them last January.

Other ships do them in a portable station. Symphony does them in a permanent one snd almost every night. Harmony does them a few nights per voyage

In and Out won't allow any restaurant outside their delivery area. 😪

Shake Shack or Smashburger 🤔

What's Portillo's

Just checked, Hot Dogs? Dawg House on BW is fairly good, need to steam buns, though.

One of those individual pizza concepts would be pretty good. Blaze, or Maddio's come to mind.

Or a Moe's for Mexican

What they really need in the Jammer is Captain Crunch.

We did a land vacation to a Club Med one time. Their buffet is a series of chef stations with plated food. The chefs were doing lovely platings and setting them under lamps for you to take as you wished. The plating was attractive and you could take as many as you wished and go back again. It worked well. I also like the indoor ‘Food Truck’ concept. They could do some fun things with that. We’re fairly new to cruising (only 5 under our belts), so I’m not as attached to the nostalgia of how things are or were. I’m kind of excited to see what they might come up with as long as they do some creative service design, and not just shoehorn pandemic service requirements into traditional service delivery.

I can guarantee you that RCL is not spending a penny on any innovation right now. To do this, they would have to develop the app, train staff on how to manage it, train crew on how to repair it, and develop a way it can be served. All of that costs money. For $0, they can have a crew member place the food from the buffet onto your plate.

And knowing the cruise lines they would make it  so you would have to log-in to the ships wifi to place your order, by the time you ordered and sent it, you would have used up $5 worth of wifi

I get it, but that's not how they sell WiFi

How many versions did the RCI app go through before it became even somewhat usable? I agree with you completely that any new IT for food ordering is pretty much out of the question.
