Tahiti Opening in July BUT

International travel might be opening in July. Protocol to be discussed as soon as possible.

Opening of international air CONNECTIONS: address by President Édouard FRITCH and High Commissioner Dominique Soraincecchini
- territorial continuity flights, with quatorzaine on arrival, are kept until the end of June. Next flight brings back 4 tests
- from July 1st to 15th, the health system will be reduced, with pre-boarding test, a septaine followed by another test
- from July 3, the Air Tahiti Nui Paris-Papeete line is reopening via Canada. These will be commercial flights reserved as a priority for residents who could not return by the continuity flights planned in June, and to state staff
- from July 15, opening to international tourism from Europe and the USA, and Hawaii and NZ "if they wish". The flights on Japan will resume in September
- Conditions: test 72 hours before boarding, wearing the mask in flight, obligatory international travel insurance, certificate on honor with commitment to report to the slightest symptoms, wearing the mask in public spaces during the stay and new test on 4th day. Regular visits by country health staff in hotel structures
- The hotels will have insulation rooms in case a customer has any symptoms. The health eve "will be mobilized for at least the next three months".

- from July 15, opening to international tourism from Europe and the United States, and Hawaii and the NZ "if they wish".

ATN flights to Japan to resume in September

- Conditions: test 72 hours maximum before boarding, wearing a mask in flight, compulsory international travel insurance, sworn statement with commitment to report any symptoms, wearing a mask in public spaces during the stay and new 4th day test. Regular visits by local health staff to hotel structures
- The hotels will reserve isolation rooms in case a client presents symptoms. The health watch "will be mobilized for at least the next three months".

We can't get test in Canada. Reserved only for those with symptoms. If you don't have symptoms, they wont test you.

 

2021 looks better for a lots of folks. FP polynesian residents must be very happy though.

There are parts of Canada where you can get a test.  In Ontario you can get a test without symptoms.   However, I have not tried.  We are going in Feb 2021.   Would not be surprised if that rule is still in affect at that time.
