The folks over at the NCL forum report they are being credited with points for cruises that were cancelled and they've therefore never taken.

Any such luck with Captains Club as well?

On Celebrity you should not be getting points since the rules of the Captains Club very clearly state you have to take the cruise but in these times, who knows what they are thinking.

That rule is usually the same as with NCL and pretty much every other loyalty program. "Butt in seat" or in this case "Butt on ship" only to get your points.

So I just checked my Celebrity account to see if the points are still there since we have received our refund.  Not only are the points still there, but my past cruise folio indicates that I took my cancelled cruise no less than 16 times!  Additionally, I took an Alaska cruise in May and a Maine/Bermuda cruise, also in May.  I'm simply exhausted from all this traveling!!

Don't feel bad, I don't know how to feel since they still have me booked on my Jan. 2039 cruise.  Wife wants to start packing but i told her its too early.

My past cruises include 4 of the same sailing on the same date That I was never booked on and 1 sailing that was cancelled  however no points awarded for those cruises.

I should say that I have not been awarded for the faux cruises in my folio.  Just the single one that we actually booked and paid for.  Had I been awarded for the 22 other past cruises showing up in my folio, I'd be an honorary free cruiser for life!!  Oh well...I'm sure it will get sorted eventually.

When it became clear that our Hawaiian cruise in April was never going to materialize, in March we cancelled under the then newly instituted CWC program. The cruise shows in our history, but with no points allocated. Another setback from having been proactive, not knowing that Celebrity would finally start to cancel on much better terms. :classic_sad:

I had assumed we wouldn't get the points as we  would not accually be on the ship.... prehaps as Celebrity have canceled they are choosing to overlook it. Does anyone know if taking FCC or getting refund in full makes a difference?

We were not due to sail for another 24 days and took the 125% FCC (and xtra £5k is not to be sniffed at with 4 more cruises booked before the end of 2021)

I won't complain at an extra 168 points , although I still need over a thousnad to make zenith, maybe 5 faux could tip the ballance 😁 but time will tell

No points are being awarded for suspended sailings.  If you have been it's been done in error and may be corrected in the future.  Their policy has always been that points are awarded after the sailing is completed.

I agree as that's what others have posted about their experiences on the RCI forum. Any C&A points awarded for cancelled cruises were removed.

Looking forward to reading your reviews!!!!!

You know it could be a nice gesture from Celebrity to award the points for cancelled cruises, wouldn’t cost them much. Nothing to gain ourselves as we have swapped our cruise before cancellation time and at E+ and miles from Zenith we would need a lot of faux cruises!

Happy to hear I’m not the only one I have 63 extra cruises on my past cruises that don’t belong to me with 8 different folio #’s that don’t belong to me each one is in about 7 times. As I pointed out to Celebrity that if they were mine I would have been Zenith a while ago, but I also did not get points for my b2b in April.

To award the points is the least they could do especially since many passengers will get stuck with other expenses incurred as a result of their cancellation.

It does seem that awarding the points for paid-in-full cruises would be a welcome good will gesture. The points do not actually cost them anything, and the benefits derived from the points are relatively low cost.

My experience with points for cancelled cruises is that I was awarded 10 points for a free "Heroes" cruise that never sailed. They, of course, disappeared not long after. I certainly did not expect to earn points for a free cruise, even if it had sailed.

Points are always awarded even for fully comped cruises by casinos or BCC.

Agreed though that loyalty points value is negligible for Celebrity and would show at least some goodwill in this whole disaster. Especially for cruises that were INVOL cancelled by the cruise line and not the passenger.

The company has Billions of $ in "free loans" in the form of customers funds that they play around with for months.

That's interesting, thanks. I would have been both surprised and pleased had the cruise sailed and we'd earned the points. Now I know.

I agree with that, it would be a nice gesture, especially with the amount of time it's taking to get refunds.
