Anyone with rebooked myvegas cruise that was canceled?

My March freebie cruise through myvegas was canceled. Then I was told I could rebook on certain cruises through September. So now my rebooked Myvegas cruise for August is now canceled. Anyone in the same boat (pun intended!)? A call to the casino department was not helpful which was NOT I experienced in March.

Yes Heather. Rebooked cruise for September is now cancelled by NCL.

NCL said no request for a refund til July 6th, 9 am.

I do not think I will plan on calling the Casino @ Sea department to see if they would allow another rebooking cruise.

With the Covid-19, no one know when these cruises will be able to move on or to start cruising again.

If able to cruise again in November or December, it still risky - social distant, might have to wear a mask, etc.

I am now more interested in getting a refund.

However, I do not know if the refund is only for the new rebooked cruise that was cancelled.

Wondered if they will refund the whole thing (March + Sept).

Good luck to you.

Please post / let us know if you are able to rebook another cruise.

Same boat. I was originally on Bliss, March 15 out of NYC.  They cancelled on 3/13, but I called on 3/12 because my husband's vacation was yanked unless he did a quarantine. When I called, I was given the choice of cancelling and receiving my port fees, taxes, grats, drink service and excursions on credit. Well that does me no good. So they said I can reschedule  for August 9 on Encore out of NYC. I really wanted to cancel and forfeit the free cruise, but they wouldn't budge. I called again last month to try and get more info (knowing we would be getting this next cancel). They said, to wait it out and I would get my money back than and even gave me the amount it would be that matched my records.  So I guess I don't even want to bother another reschedule, just too stressful with this unknown. I'll see what happens on July 6. I'm just worried how long it will drag out before they say yeah or nay on the refund.

I just spoke to the Casino. I'm doing a chargeback with the bank. I cancelled on March 12 (the day before they cancelled). I had close to $1400 for tips, service, admin, excursions, etc. They told me they could NOT refund those extra fees, that they could only give me FCC, apply to another cruise by September 30. So I chose August 9. I spoke to them last month, as more cancellations were coming in and expressed my concern about my money laid up in the FREE CRUISE. She said as long as they cancelled, I would get it back. They cancelled. I called the casino today after seeing several comments about FCC. They told me, only FCC even though they refused to return this back in March. These are the extras, not the actual cruise. They can have their admin fees and the $25 upgrade to balcony if they are playing that game, but they wouldn't give me what was rightfully mine to begin with.

I mean if it was the prize that you have won they have to compensate you in a way. If its not a cruise, then at least they can provide you with a few free days in one of their Casino hotels or just issue you a sum of money or something. Seriously, like what kind of an Award is that?

The free cruise is just that, the cruise part. It came from myvegas facebook slots, I cashed my points in for it. You pay for your drinks, tips, excursions, wifi.   I don't care if I lose the free cruise part or a point refund. I just want my above & beyond cruise expenses. They changed the rules on that policy the week ending March 13. I would never have paid any of it up front had it been like that when I booked it.

I had free cruise for March 15th.  I called prior to the POM to get my extras refunded, services charges, drink packages ... and the rest of course was forced to be FCC ...very frustrating.  Add insult to injury, the extras I cancelled on March 10th have yet to reach my credit card so even that is held by them.  This is now beyond the 90 days.

So now I have FCC that is way short of getting another cruise and a refund from extras that seems to be stuck in the system, so at the moment money lost all around.

I was offered to select another sailing before the September window which I was not even a little bit interested and at the moment it would seem that decision was a good one, though ultimately I am no further ahead.

I put a dispute in, so I have to wait and see what happens. First time I ever had to file a dispute with anything, so abit nervous about it.

Good luck to you.  It is such tough times right now and my 'loss' is minor compared to others in every sense so I am trying to accept what I can't change and be patient with what is being promised...but I have my moments.  I am waiting a little bit longer and I may end up down this same path for the $$ refund on the extras that are outstanding 90+ days and this is not something I have ever done either.  And to make it even funner, it will involve two credit cards 😞

Oh and my free cruise was from MyVegas too and I got my points back.  I wrote to them and after couple email it was done.

I think I talked to you in the role call section back in March. I should have went the route you took on this mess. I wouldn't mind the wait, but I'll be waiting for nothing.

My March MyVegas cruise that was cancelled would have been my 5th comped cruise, first time on Norwegian.  The other 4 cruises went smoothly with absolutely no issues. I wanted to rebook a Sept. cruise but just didnt have a good feeling about it so I requested a refund, so glad I did. Expect to wait  the 90 days they say it will take for a refund, maybe even longer by now. Its very disappointing to not be cruising this year, hope it all works out.

Well those that cancelled under the Peace of Mind policy before NCL cancelled cruises, it was only FCC allowed.

Sammee - Good luck with the credit card dispute.

Poffles - It might be 90 days after the cruise day? If so, you should get a refund some times next week.

No one know how NCL does their refunds. Good luck.

Yes not so much on the roll call but on another thread about cancelled 'casino' cruise.  Common impact.  Just unfortunate times.

Today would be 97 days from my sail date and 90 days from the end of what would have been my cruise so either way we are at that point.  Also, I didn't cancel my extras under POM, they were a straight out cancellation of extras done on March 10th so it should be 90 days from that so definitely past that.

I will agree with the 'no one knows ..'  hands down the truest statement.  I think that they may be getting better for some refunding but I think anyone doing any 'refund' transaction around those first cancelled cruise dates in March ended up lost under all the subsequent overhead; I think this since I've read of some with April sail date getting the money back ... ???

I've actually emailed again about the refund more recently and now the tune changed a bit ... prior response was 'expected refund time 3-4 weeks'' , and now they are saying they are even challenged meeting 90 days.

Hope you get it soon. You definitely should have gotten yours. I remember seeing posts that others have for the extras.

Thanks poohdreaming, this is one expensive FREE CRUISE. I wonder how it was, lol.

Has anybody actually tried to rebook their myvegas cruise yet? I'm hearing from others that it expires for the 9/30 embarktation date and is not being extended. I saw posts in myvegas group of this situation couple with the points refund back to the account.

I am on hold with CAS to see if the certificate will be extended past September 30, 2020. They have already put my FCC and bonus FCC on my account for this canceled cruise. I am still waiting on my 2 cruise next certs and the return of my son's FCC.

As of now they have not extended the certificate (whatever you want to call it) past September 30, 2020. She said that doesn't mean that they won't in the future.  🤷‍♀️ So, she said to keep calling back to see if things change.

That's not a good answer at all for us.

Wow! I don't even care about the points going back to MV even though I probably spent $25-50  in chips. I didn't mind losing the cruise back in March and now, just make me whole again. The only money they should have had was the $280 admin fees. I'm trying to find their cancellation policies before March 7 for charge back purposes. I thought it would be in the original contract but they are just links that send you to the NCL page and the old info is gone, overwritten with the new.

That's the new "temporary" Peace of Mind policy that they started fiddling with March 7.

Scroll down to see the amount you can be refunded after final payment, but before the cruise was supposed to sail.

So you're saying they are supposed to be keeping our gratuities, port fees & taxes, drink service charges and excursions on top of the cruise?

What costs are included in the future cruise credit (FCC)?

The following will be applied to the FCC:

  • Cruise fare and taxes
    • Including any winning Upgrade Advantage payments.
  • Flight arrangements booked through Norwegian Cruise Line.
  • Hotel and CruiseTour packages purchased through Norwegian Cruise Line.
  • Shore Excursions booked and pre-paid through Norwegian Cruise Line
  • Prepaid service charges
  • Beverage or Dining gratuities (if part of FAS Promotion selection)
  • Essentials, Booksafe Standard or Platinum Travel Protection, if purchased.
Booksafe Travel Protection will be issued as a separate additional FCC worth the value of the travel protection plan paid. This insurance FCC will be valid for one year from date of issuance and only applicable towards insurance for all published sailings through Dec 31, 2022?

If you did not ask for refund of gratuities of prepaid to the dining or the drink package or the prepaid service charges by I believe it was March 13-15 (or whatever the date it was), it would then be in FCC credits after that date.

Now that NCL cancelled cruises, these shouldnt be in FCC if requested for a refund??

Those that already gotten their refunds - maybe they can tell us what it included.

Was it just the cruise fare or was it everything?

That's the policy they put up March 6.  Had I cancelled March 1 or abouts, I would have gotten everything but the $280 in admin fees and just forfeited the free cruise. I would have been okay with that. I can't believe they are allowed to do that.
