SaucyNuggets Posted April 29, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 29, 2004 I've heard that there is a laundry room and ironing board on the Legend. Does anyone know how much it costs to use it?
deadbug Posted April 29, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 29, 2004 We did not go to the laundry room while recently on the Legend; however, I can tell you that about the 3rd day in to the cruise, they have a daily special whereby for 10.00, the steward will pick up your dirty laundry and return it clean and folded the same day. You get a midsized laundry bag delivered to your cabin. We found it useful as we did not want to waste time doing laundry ourselves. CruiseFever Posted April 29, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 29, 2004 That "all you can shove in this bag" laundry special is great! We always do it and they do a great job. As far as laundry goes, you'll find it's very well equipped and looks much like this one: http://www.lifeiscruising.com/services Happy Cruising Chris www.LifeIsCruising.com Next up: Caribbean Princess 06/26/04 Star Princess 10/24/04 Diamond Princess 12/22/04 Carnival Miracle 03/13/
nosnobunny Posted April 29, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 29, 2004 I heard that it is $1.50 per load for both washer and dryer. Although I had planned on doing one load mid-cruise, I found that I didn't have time for such mundane chores. boys2626 Posted April 29, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 29, 2004 just off the legend 4/13. i believe there was a laundry room on each floor. $2 to wash. $2 to dry. the laundry service special was offered twice (port days) and it was $15. it was a fairly small bag and they would only do certain items -(shirts,shorts,sox,swimwear,underwear) i tried to put 2 pr of boys khaki pants in the bag and they returned them un-washed. hope this helps. SaucyNuggets Posted April 29, 2004 Author #7 Share Posted April 29, 2004 I was hoping to cut down on the amount of packing that I'd have to do (8 nights is a fair amount of time). But if they don't do pants or other larger items, that kind of defeats the purpose that I'd use the laundry service for. But then again, do I really want to spend valuable cruise time doing laundry... jedgar Posted April 29, 2004 #8 Share Posted April 29, 2004 Can I wash my clothes while on board? Self-Service Launderettes Each ship has at least 2 self-service launderettes located on the stateroom decks. There are two or three washers and dryers, and one iron and ironing board in each launderette. The cost is $2.00 per washer load and $2.00 per dryer load. Vending machines dispense small boxes of detergent and water softener at $1.00 per box. Note: Due to local environmental requirements, the washing machines in the guest' launderette will be closed in port, per each ports specific requirements; the dryers and irons will be available for guest use. ©Carnival Cruise Lines 2004. savdoc2 Posted April 29, 2004 #9 Share Posted April 29, 2004 We used the launderettes on both of our cruises and will use it again on our next cruise. We take laundry detergent tablets and dryer sheets with us. It is so nice to be able to do a load of wash and not pack so many things.
boys2626 Posted April 29, 2004 #10 Share Posted April 29, 2004 saucynuggets - the will do pants - they just aren't included in the "$15 fill the bag" special.
CrusinCouple Posted April 29, 2004 #11 Share Posted April 29, 2004 Just back from Legend. They did have a laundry special...all you can get in the bag for $15.00 but it did not include pants. I was specificially told that by the room seward and on the sheet where you had to write what you were sending there was no place for pants...
