I changed all my March doctor appointment to May ,then from May to August .Now possibly to December. We cancelled our December 2020 cruise thinking that cruising might resume early in 2021 .Now I am hearing possibly 2022.

What if your cabin is on deck 13 and you just finished dinner on deck 3.If you are physically unable to run up 10 flights of stairs and you need a bathroom there is likely to be a problem.

Plan accordingly. Drink less. Alcohol stimulates the kidneys/bladder. 😇

Apparently you always get a drink package, some of us don't. Eliminate all bars if you can'r socially distance in them. That's what is happening now, because of the virus, and life seems to be going on.

Yes, we always get the drink package. Don’t you get 3 free drinks on your Sea Pass card for HH?

What about the suite lounges?

I posted this on the FB Pinnacle page, just to see what ideas came forth.

As I think of all the past hoopla over access to the Lounges , I begin to wonder what shape, if any, that benefit will come in when ships begin to sail. As we have been told that there will be no self-serve buffets in the Windjammer, one would imagine that the lounge coffee machine would not be self-serve (a new job for the concierge?) , the continental breakfast, the spread for lunch and the cocktail hour snacks will likely not be available initially. Even the cookies left during the day will likely go poof. Social distancing in some of the smaller lounges will be difficult at best. Personally, because I am allergic to perfume, I think of the long hallways leading to the lounge on Quantum class ships -- every smell, albeit good or bad tends to linger in those corridors....hmm what of germs. So, what do you imagine our Lounge experience will be?

Definitely a minority though.  As I said, lower occupancy might be easily achieved.  Enjoy.

I can't imagine why anyone thinks spending thousands of $'s to do what can be done at home sounds like fun.  Other than an ocean view, I can stay home and be isolated from people, wear a mask when I go out, get carryout, enjoy a tropical drink, read a book.

No thanks.

We would love lower occupancy. We’d pay more for the exclusivity.

You might be 🙂  Unfortunately it will also include masks, pool restrictions, dining restrictions, bar restrictions, lounge restrictions, elevator restrictions, theater restrictions, port limitations, etc etc.

And surprise itinerary modifications when staff or guests test positive for covid.

Lol "other than an ocean view".  For many people, that's what they enjoy most about cruising.  Also, can you visit several different countries while at home?  I can't.

I also enjoy seeing the shows, and visiting the casino.  They might be run differently, but I didn't see where those would be eliminated.  Did you?

I would hope Suite Guest still had reserved seats and access. 😇

I cannot drink alcohol because of a medical problem but I have another problem that causes me to need bathrooms too often.

They should have access to those that need it. I joke a lot but we should never prohibit others from enjoying life as they are capable of doing so, in their own way.

Peace

Royal announced today that social distancing and reduced passenger load will be the new norm for the near future. I guess my cruising days are are on on hold for a long time to come. You go on a cruise to socialize, meet new people and have fun. Maybe somebody out there can explain it to me, I just can't see how it will happen. My wife and I have been cruising for a long time and going to the lounge, having a drink, talking to other cruisers, playing trivia, etc. is part of the day, especially at sea.

We agreed 100%, how they do this in the Diamond club? the way it is right now there not enough room for everyone..

A matter of perspective:

  • Opportunity to express artistic creativity through fashion sensitive facial coverings
  • More room in and around pools, no chair hogs
  • More attentive dining and bar services
  • Less crowding in lounges
  • Less pushing and shoving on elevators
  • More room in theaters and other performance venues
  • Less crowding in ports

Some of the above will only be possible if they ban the entitled, selfish passengers; you know they won't.

Plus, they will have to actually ENFORCE the policies.

P.S. I'm being realistic, not pessimistic.
