Rare rafinmd Posted August 22, 2022 #2876 Share Posted August 22, 2022 Stay safe, Keith. In 2010 I was one of the very last passengers to leave a Cruise West ship before the line went our of business. I got to the ship by train and ferry. On August 22, 2010, the sun went down up as the Canadian was in Western Ontario on the way to Winnipeg. Roy 5

Hopefully not to the extremes that some parts of the Greater Toronto Area got. From Friday to this morning, some areas in the northwest got as much as 200MM (that's 8 inches!!) of rain!! We are further to the east and we got about an inch overnight last night.

Flash flooding is forecasted for our area. However where I used to live they got the one in 1000 year. ( not a typo) rainfall. Some parts got 15 inches of rain in 12 hours. Keith. No rain for 60+ days and we had fires in and outside our community more so than 2011 which was also a drought. Hoping you get your rain too. When I lived there between 1987 and 1991 it seems most years we were in a drought. Ugh! Keith
Rare Keith1010 Posted August 23, 2022 #2882 Share Posted August 23, 2022 I wonder what "Kitty" is thinking. Oh yes, when will the itineraries be ready so I can book my next Crystal Cruise?. 🤣 Keith

Rare rafinmd Posted August 24, 2022 #2886 Share Posted August 24, 2022 Today's sunrise is from a 2013 New England/Canada on MS Veendam. It was taken August 24 before our arrival and disembarkation in Boston: Roy
KenzSailing Posted August 25, 2022 #2887 Share Posted August 25, 2022 OK, off topic cruise line, but this is for a lady in Texas: Also, as a former altar boy, I must say I'm feeling especially tart deprived.
Rare rafinmd Posted August 25, 2022 #2888 Share Posted August 25, 2022 Today's sunrise comes near the end of my 2018 Grand Alaska Panama trip. On a cloudy August 25 Crystal Symphony made what I believe was Crystal's Inaugural call to Bimini: Roy

Point to ponder. What does it mean to be off topic when the topic is off topic posts. Doesn't that make it on topic, and doesn't being on topic make it off topic. I am certainly no expert, but in our various trips to NYC, I don't think we have ever been to a theatre that is "ON" Broadway!! On various Streets yes, but not actually ON Broadway! KenzSailing Posted August 26, 2022 #2893 Share Posted August 26, 2022 Well, next month we'll be at the Longacre Theater (thee-a-tah.) Advertised as "between Broadway and 8th Avenue." So definitely Broadwayish, and probably Broadway curious.
ctjon Posted August 26, 2022 #2894 Share Posted August 26, 2022 I grew up in NYC and there was at least 1 but even then most were on the streets leading to BWAY
Rare rafinmd Posted August 26, 2022 #2895 Share Posted August 26, 2022 Today's sunrise is from a 2015 trip with a Blount cruise from Maine to New Brunswick. Somehow I don’t think the term “on Broadway” literally means the play’s address is on Broadway. So hoping Jim can educate me on this! 😊 I just know my high school’s performance of “My Fair Lady” was SO far off Broadway you could almost see the Golden Gate Bridge! 🙄 2

Rare rafinmd Posted August 27, 2022 #2899 Share Posted August 27, 2022 I do not have an August 27 sunrise so this is from August 24 (2010), again on VIA's Canadian on the way to one of Cruise West's final cruise. That morning the Canadian was approaching Edmonton. Roy
Rare rafinmd Posted August 28, 2022 #2900 Share Posted August 28, 2022 Today's sunrise is from the same trip as the photo from my cousin's farm. I returned from Montreal August 27-28, spending the night August 27 in Poughkeepsie as the train to New York arrives too late for a reliable connection to Baltimore. This sunrise is from Poughkeepsie August 28, 2015: Roy
