300 Redundant?

It seems consultation has started to discuss redundancies of up to 300 employees.

? Less staff to keep cruisers informed, arrange rescheduled cruises, refund cruisers?

i wonder if they will hire one blogger to update the website with the latest news?

May be spread among the various sectors (insurance, holiday,cruise).

The cruise side is going to have to slash costs, as they will have two huge mortgages to pay (for the new ships).

I suppose the next round of cost cutting will be to tell the crew that their pay is being reduced.

Unfortunately, one of the biggest shareholders in Saga is a hedge fund, and the new management seems considerably more interested in the shareholders than in the customers and staff.

As the management is so new, they probably have not grasped that one of Saga's biggest selling points (for the cruise and holiday sections) is the customer orientated telephone staff. 

Cannot keep selling yourself on excellent service if you no longer have the staff to provide the service.

Wonder how long it will be before the call centre staff are told they can only spend x minutes per customer, instead of taking as long as the customer needs, as they currently do.
