Woofbite Posted July 13, 2020 #1 Share Posted July 13, 2020 Has there been an official notification as to any change in HAL's final payment deadlines? Another thread implied it was changed to 60 days but then the person said it was no longer shown on the website. I'm talking about a 22 day cruise. Hi Woofbite, We are on the same cruise (and our very silent roll call😢) Our final payment, which was originally scheduled for August, was changed to Sept. 14. That is a few days earlier than the HAL final payment. So I have an extra month for HAL to decide whether our cruise will go or not. I hope that they don't decide the day after I make the final payment. It is hard to get enthusiastic about a cruise that probably won't go. I will let HAL cancel, then ask for a full refund.

KAKcruiser Posted July 13, 2020 #4 Share Posted July 13, 2020 So if you cancel at 60 days prior to sailing before making final payment, would you receive your deposit back as a FCC under the book with confidence guarantee? Or would you lose it?
rhblake Posted July 14, 2020 #5 Share Posted July 14, 2020 Be aware! I have heard that while the final payment date may have been changed, the cancellation date in the original invoice has not been changed. If you decide to cancel at the new payment date there will be no refund as your cancellation date has already passed and your deposit is the penalty. This may not be the case here, but be aware. Correct, cancellation dates have NOT changed for penalty dates. It depends on when a person cancels as to how much they are refunded. Alternatively they can use the book with confidence and get an FCC.
bouhunter Posted July 14, 2020 #7 Share Posted July 14, 2020 It's hard to imagine any 22 day cruises will sail for quite some time. Final payment date is likely irrelevant.
SFO Peter Posted July 14, 2020 #8 Share Posted July 14, 2020 HAL book with confidence in a nutshell. Note that the FCC is not a Cash Refund.
