with this being the case, will ships sail from US ports anytime soon?

Do you have a link which shows which countries are accepting which nationalities?

No....I know that Americans are allowed in Cambodia, Turkey, Turks and Caicos, and maybe two other countries....sad state of affairs.

several islands have opened up, but you need to take a covid test a few days prior, and bring a copy of negative results.  This is also dependent at times on what state you are coming from...Croatia is okay, and Usbekistan, United Emirates....a few others

Here is a link for travel restrictions

I had read somewhere that restrictions will be looked at possibly at 2 week intervals, or on a need-be basis, to revise, add or delete entry allowances.

Right now, maybe only countries which desperately need tourist dollars.
But this situation has to change soon, possibly by October

Why does this situation need to change soon, possibly by October?

Because the virus has already burnt out in many countries and the vaccine will be arriving soon

Neither of your assertions are accurate.

It is not going to change soon.  Look at the numbers, look at the trajectory, look at the response.  There is your answer.

The stock market doesn't seem to think so.

There are at least nine countries in the world that have successfully controlled COVID-19 so far. These include New Zealand, Iceland, Tanzania, Fiji, Montenegro, Vatican City, Seychelles, Mauritius, and Papua New Guinea

Well I guess the stock market knows better than all the scientists and medics.
I'm just happy the border between Canada and the US is remaining closed.

Big difference between 'controlled' and 'burnt out'.

So nine out of over 200 countries.  Not exactly awe inspiring, considering how remote some of them are.

The stock market is always forward looking and prices in the future, not the present.

So the future is expected to be better than the present.

Which is one of the reasons why there are many bookings for Cruises in 2021 and 2022.

The other reasons being the pent up demand and the FCCs floating around

The vaccine will be available in a few months?  Really?  Tested, safe, approved and widely available to the general population?

Let me check the latest edition of the National Enquirer next time I am in line at the supermarket check out.
