Too early to get exact pricing just trying to get my ducks in a row… We noticed prices are much higher (& lots of hotels already showing sold out) for same room in 2025 than today & thinking it has to do with it being Jubilee year. 🤷🏻♀️

Haven't done anything about this cruise yet (4 cruises to deal with first) but was wondering if it was the right time to go to Rome.

Here is a calendar of events: https://www.iubilaeum2025.va/en/pellegrinaggio/calendario-giubileo.html And general info: https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/254346/rome-prepares-for-35-million-pilgrims-during-2025-jubilee-year As for hotel prices, book as as early as possible. They can only increase.
rocker57 Posted April 28 #1108 Share Posted April 28 You probably can’t get pricing until 9-10 months before you need them. We are planning on April 2025 and that is what I am finding. Hotels don’t show that they are not booking, but show that they are full or pricing is ridiculous. I have a list of hotels I’m looking at, now I just have to try to wait until June before booking

Often they will reserve way ahead of that time frame and give you better prices. That's what we do.

FLA Cruiser Posted May 3 #1111 Share Posted May 3 Hi - I searched the post and didn't find a reference to the Hotel Forum in Rome. Has anyone stayed there - or have any experience with them?
NCteacherlovescruising Posted May 5 #1112 Share Posted May 5 We’re booked at Albergo Del Senato. I don’t recall, do they have an elevator? They do have A/C, right? No pool but does have a roof top bar, I believe.

I can see 14 months out to may 2025. That how I know they are asking $150 for esmeldo hotel or however it's spelled and I'm not within a year. Some hotels show further out some dont. Though I keep hearing only book direct. .. I can bundle air and hotel on another site I'm sure considering. But it's one like you said doesnt show until about 11 months out. Sure a good price. I just completed a booking at Hotel Smeraldo for arrival on 19 October 2025 for six nights. I was surprised their website would accept a booking that far in advance, but I learned just this morning that 2025 will be a Holy Year and very busy in Rome. I emailed the hotel and was informed reservations were now open for my dates. Here's a link to the Jubilee 2025 General Calendar. Knowing event dates may help you plan your itinerary. Incidentally, I will no longer book with any Expedia owned travel booking sites after experiencing two very negative issues. One was with Vrbo not standing behind its Book with Confidence Guarantee. I had to revert to contacting Chase Sapphire Reserve for a credit to my account. The other...observing a group of six attempting to check in to two rooms at Albergo Cesari with confirmed Expedia reservations in hand. The hotel had no record of the reservations. Expedia owned sites are listed below. Expedia Hotels.com Vrbo Travelocity Hotwire.com Orbitz Ebookers CheapTickets CarRentals.com Expedia Cruises Wotif Trivago 1

Have you stayed at Hotel Smeraldo before? Comments? Thx Hi @nini... We stayed at Hotel Smeraldo for five nights in October 2023 in a Family Suite Town House which we booked again for 2025. Admittedly its size is overkill for two people. I've kinda' had it with tiny rooms...the Family Suite has two bedrooms (we use one for luggage, etc), two bathrooms (nice when getting ready to go), a kitchen with dining table, and a sofa. It's like a small apartment. There are plenty of other nice rooms on their website. The hotel is right in the middle of the Roscioli empire, with Roscioli Caffè e Pasticceria, Roscioli Salumeria con Cucina, Rimessa Roscioli, and Antico Forno Roscioli very close by. The Forno is right across the street...great for takeout when we want to dine in. The hotel is a five to ten minute walk to Piazza dell Rotunda or Piazza Navona and closer to Piazza Campo de Fiori. We did the Rimessa Roscioli Wine Tasting Dinner when we were last there. If you enjoy wine...even a little bit...it's a do not miss experience.
