indiana123 Posted August 21, 2020 #526 Share Posted August 21, 2020 I have mine in Superdrug. Our surgery always seem quite late with flu jab appointments. I was just walking round Superdrug and the pharmacist asked if I had had my jab. She offered it to me there and then. My OH wouldn't believe me when I came out

That's useful to know.I may well book an appointment at Boots so I don't have to wait until October or November Get in touch with Boots to register your intent. I had an email a couple of weeks ago to ask us to do that so they could get enough vaccine in. I think they are starting to take appointments at end of August or early September. There are several restaurants on the roof terrace and a large recreation area there too. The last home Paul McCartney lived in Liverpool where lots of there songs were written is owned by the National Trust. Rare Eddie99 Posted August 22, 2020 #535 Share Posted August 22, 2020 Chew a tooth whitening gum. The chewing action helps in itself and the ?bicarb? whitening agent neutralises excess acid. Don’t eat within 3 hours of bedtime; don’t have heavy meals; beware fatty foods - all the same boring warnings. 🙄 You’re joining us old(er) people Damian 🙂. Don’t suppose you’ve had ‘cruise cough’ or a sore throat or nasty taste in your mouth? All symptoms too. LPR is the abbreviation for the medical term. Laryngo-pharyngeal reflux. Sounds posher than heartburn 🙂. Heartburn/indigestion not necessarily a symptom though You can now buy fairly low-dose “...prazole” medication, as Nexium or a Gaviscon equivalent, whose name escapes me - possibly Gavium or Guardium. That’s just a one a day tablet, timing of taking which is important- ask Google - which should sort it ‘for good’ for a while. You could consider doing a fortnight on it, shouldn’t do any harm; might do enormous good. Oh dear - this could be my specialist subject on Mastermind 😀 Hope you’re feeling better 1

Oh dear - this could be my specialist subject on Mastermind 😀 Hope you’re feeling better Yes, I'm much better thanks, not quite 100% but getting there. Liquid Gaviscon, change of pillows, hot bath, lighter food choices etc. have made a difference. All commonsense stuff I suppose but sometimes you need to hear it from someone else which is why I posted and I appreciate all the responses. I'm going to follow up with the GP tomorrow. I am allergic to antibiotics and aside from that on the very few occasions I've had prescribed medication if there is a potential side-effect then I get it. Depression, constipation, loss of taste...you name it. Because of that I am very anti-medication for myself if I can help it but I am very aware how important it is for other members of my family so I'll see what the doctor says tomorrow. Thanks again everyone.

Thanks again everyone. Lansoprazole is often prescribed to reduce acid production. Tomatoes are best avoided. Good luck with your doctor's appointment Damian. 1
Rare Eddie99 Posted August 23, 2020 #546 Share Posted August 23, 2020 (edited) 😢 Vamps If you think he is in pain or distress, he needs the vet If you think his time is approaching but that he is comfortable, I think he will appreciate being in his home close to those he loves. Be patient if he has accidents I don’t envy you; it’s the worst bit of having pets. But, you’ve looked after him all this time. He relies on you. Don’t let him down. He needs you now more than ever. Rare Eddie99 Posted August 23, 2020 #548 Share Posted August 23, 2020 A vet we knew said it’s surprisingly rare for dogs to go in their sleep - though one of her oldies had done it and surprised her. You know a towel looped around under the belly and held up by you can help if the back legs appear very weak? I hope things resolve very quickly, one way or another

Adawn47 Posted August 23, 2020 #550 Share Posted August 23, 2020 I agree with everything Eddie says. Phone your vet, or any vet if you don't have your own, who will normally be open sometime during Sunday, and they will give you advice. It will put your mind at rest. xx Avril
