Good morning, thanks for the Daily!  We love eating outside - our deck is perfect for it, with windows that we can slide open and leave that way from April through September.  Trail mix is something I always bring with us on trips - you never know when you're going to end up at an airport where everything is shut down, and you haven't eaten in a long while.  It also helps DH who sometimes gets low blood sugar from time to time.

 

The menu suggestion sounds good, but last night Honey Bunny mentioned that we haven't had rotisserie chicken for a while, so I'm pretty sure we'll be picking one of those up when we go for groceries today.  Chicken, along with dilled potatoes and a vegetable will round out our dinner tonight.  And wine.

 

Prayers for all who need them, and even for those who don't think they do.  Toasts and cheers for the celebrations today.  Be well, stay safe!

I’m bringing Passion Fruit Pie. 
 

I first had it on a HAL Shorex in Valpo. We visited a family owned and run museum where we had lunch (that included a tasty sandwich and a slice of this pie.) It always brings back good memories. 
 

 

 The white topping is sour cream with a little powdered sugar. You can substitute key lime and get a good pie with a solid set of you choose. DH likes it.

Reminds me of an incident I had in the mid 80's.  I was driving a Van Pool and had moved the spare tire from under the seat where it cut into passenger foot space to a rack on the back door and also replaced the dinky bumper with a step bumper.  One morning I got pulled over by the local police and the officer came up and said "you have no back license plate".  I got out and checked and pointed to the tag in the space in the center of the new bumper.  Oops.

I have never had Vegemite, but use Marmite in soups, stews, etc as a flavour enhancer.  It is a bit of an acquired taste.

Time for a MOB (Man Overboard) Drill in Puerto Chiapas, Mexico. This is Dutch Cadet Officer Martijn, wearing a survival suit,   in his role as MOB "victim"

 

 

Unlike the Vista class and up, the former "S"-class and (still two) "R"-class ships do not have a fast rescue boat. As a result, lifeboats #1 and #2, who are smaller and faster than the remaining lifeboats, are used as rescue boats. When the MOB alarm sounds, it generates a response by several teams. First of all, the crew of one of the rescue boats (commander, asst. commander, two helpers, one techie and a medical person) will come running to boat deck to their assigned location underneath lifeboat #1 or #2. The Bosun and the crew that lowers to boat to the surface will also be there, as will the 1st (safety) officer, the doctor, another nurse and the stretcher team, as well as the Emergency Response Team (ERST), headed by the SECO, whose job it is to provide crowd control by cordoning off the area around the rescue boat and providing a clear passage to the nearest elevator and the medical center. The rescue boat will be lowered and will proceed to the MOB to take him from the water and return him to the ship and, subsequently, the medical center where he will be assessed

IMHO Marmite is superior to Vegemite.  However the best product ever has recently been introduced:  Peanut Butter with Marmite.  It's the most deliciious thing spread on toast (sour dough for preference) and sometimes I mash a banana with it too.  Ambrosia!!!

The O.B. (Officer Bar), the "Blue Anchor," incl. faux fireplace and (of course) a dart board, on Statendam located on B-Deck. Most of the OB's on the "S" and "R_-class ships had/have a British or Irish pub theme. The little food service area serves breakfast and lunch.
