Summer 2022 - Brochure Launch

We’ve just got back from the pub (whilst we can still go) and over lunch were discussing Summer 2022 cruises as an email had popped up from a cruise specialist about the P&O launch. We had previously thought that Summer 2022 would be the earliest we would feel happy cruising again, on the assumption that this ruddy virus would be a thing of the past. The way that things are going we are now questioning this. I read an article on the BBC website yesterday where it was saying that it could be 5 years before things return to anything like 2019 and some residual issues may last even longer. Dear God. Will it ever end? Anyway, we now don’t feel confident booking, even for 2022, until we know that cruising will be free of restrictions such as mask wearing and compulsory excursions if going ashore. It’s all just too uncertain. I think we have until the end of next year to redeem the bit of future cruise credit that we have, so the wait continues.

It says on the letter at the bottom “You are receiving this message because you have requested to hear news and offers from P&O Cruises by post”.
You can change this online.

Nothing through our letterbox today.  But we need to know prices to make decisions, so wait until tomorrow's reveal.  Good to read that they're still doing 10% past passenger discount.

Thank you.Thats good because although we probably won't book at present, I find it useful to have a brochure to highlight any cruises that we may be interested in for the future. Our last cruise was booked direct with P and O so hopefully we will get one in the post too

I hope that too. I find it much easier to look through a brochure for cruises of possible interest than to try to track them down on the website.

Just had a quick look on P&O's website....we are interested in a cruise for May 2022....gives the lead in price of an inside cabin....doesn't show any other cabin grades....also doesn't state if early saver or select price BUT the deposit is showing as 15%....not 5%....if that proves to be the case we definitely won't book at launch because for the grade we want it would be too much to " gamble" with in these very uncertain times

Just had a look at a couple we are interested in, and it states:-

Register your interest today
Get ahead of the queue and secure your place on this holiday today. Registering your interest allows you to commit to this cruise before it's on sale, and pay just a 5% deposit.

It appears that registering your interest and getting the 5% deposit they allocate the 'best' cabin of the grade that you want, you can't choose a cabin. If I'm reading it correctly.

From a quick look at the prices of cruises that we a interested in they seem quite reasonable e.g. March 2022 14 night Med cruse from £1289 Balcony.

I think your understanding is correct.

I too thought the prices looked good initially.  However, just gone back into look at the cruises I had selected and those prices may have been early saver, as after I picked Select and looked for a grade the price jumped a bit.

Hi....thanks for that....then much more tempting ...its just that the cruise I looked at stated...inside price from £1349....deposit from £203....so I was going off that.

If you search for a cruise, click on view itinerary and scroll down all cabin 'from' prices are there.

Thankyou,

I doubt I’ll be booking yet, depends if next year’s cruise goes as to where I want to go the year after!

I'm not looking at booking a new cruise but looking at moving a June 2021 one to 2022, I presume that moving cruise bookings is still allowed.

Buyer Beware.

Just been looking at cruise R215. Prices start at £1299.  Logged in and found I had a FCC not sure where that came from.  Checked prices Early Saver and Select both same £2598 for cabin.  Started to go through cabin options and inside then jumps to £2824 for lowest grade.  Came out of website and checked back in to see if I had misread Early Saver price.  No both the same £2598 but the inside cabin price now showing £2980.

hi everybody,

We have had nothing through the post yet and have been able to find outline prices on our TA website but I cannot find which are Portunus Club Cruises.

Could I ask if someone would list which cruises on Arcadia and Aurora are Portunus Club - just the cruise number will do as this may assist us in choosing. Based on previous years there will be only one or two on each.

thanks

Alex

Presumably the £2980 will be for the lowest grade, did you change the location on your enquiry?

We also found the prices jump as you go through the cabin options and when you opt for select as opposed to the headline price. Additionally the price of the cruise we were looking at increased by a further £700 as we viewed it!

This is very odd.  Just looked at a price for our single friend.  Price is £2259, less future cruise credit of £118.80.  Then it says £107 still to pay today!  5% of £2259 is £112.95, so that should have been sorted by the FCC.

It looks as though they are just reducing the overall price  and then still wanting a deposit but leaving a reduced balance. I suppose you can't blame them for wanting to get some extra cash in the bank.
