We're heading off today on our first trip since the pandemic started. We're going to Tea Gardens, about 2.5 hours north of Sydney, for a week. That is if we can get there. The Pacific Highway was flooded right at the turn-off yesterday. Hopefully that has subsided by now.

It will be nice to have a change of scene and to get a bit of fresh sea air. We chose Tea Gardens as it's a bit quieter than Nelson Bay but might take the ferry over there one day - a one hour cruise!

While you're there check out Jimmy's Beach - a very nice spot for picnic with on site electric BBQs. Nice sandy beach with no surf. The caravan park there has had an upgrade so that's something to consider in the future if caravanning's your thing.

Yes, we know Jimmy's Beach. Many, many years ago, when we were younger and more agile, we camped there a couple of times. We'll probably go around there one day if the weather permits but at the moment it's looking like being wet every second day. Never mind, with a view like this who cares. Our Kindles are loaded, the fridge is stuffed full of food, wine, beer etc so we'll survive whatever the weather throws at us.

Full fridge, great location, what more do you need.

Would be heavy rain up at Port Stephens, raining cats and dogs down here on far south coast, to wit, Batemans Bay.☂️

Actually most of the rain seems to be going around Tea Gardens.  It's been north of us, west of us and south of us but we've only had a couple of heavy falls come right over us. There was some serious thunder this morning but it seems to have passed, it's nice and sunmy now.

We had 100mm in just 3 hours this morning, that is a lot of rain. Still heavy now and thunder and lightening, no golf today.

Looks clear north of Kiama, but our weather system is turning into an east coast low, probably hang around for a few days.

We timed it perfectly for our coffee and lunch walk. Left the apartment just after 11am, walked half way to the Singing Bridge and stopped at a cafe for coffee, then carried on walking. Just as we reach Mumms on the Myall restaurant, next to the bridge, it started to rain. We were able to get a table for lunch and have just enjoyed some delicious food: oysters, scallops, duck spring rolls and a butterflied prawn salad.

It's sunny again. Hopefully it will stay that way until we have dessert (lemon curd roulade for me and salted caramel apple tart for DH) and walk back to our apartment.

Thank you ....getting it now.

The garden is saved , and I’ve backed the car onto the drive so it can have an auto wash courtesy of nature.

Now in Australia you wouldn't dare do that. Thunderstorms have a bad habit of coming with golf ball sized hail which really makes a mess of cars.

The weather bomb is spinning around the east coast down here. Some flash flooding happening.

Yep ..first time in Sydney we wondered what all the holes in the tile roofs were. Then realised there had been a hail storm .

If you get around Canberra, you will observe many motor cars with seriously dented roofs and bonnets from the big hail that hits the ACT sometimes. Some folk don't get the damage repaired plus the long waiting list for repairers to rectify the damage.

It is thundering here.  I just lost TV for a short while.  A storm was forecast.

We have been watching it on the BOM site and could see the dramatically coloured areas heading for the GC. I hope your home is OK with the storm. My daughter phoned to warn us about the storm but we were already tracking it.

Today we have a couple of tradies working on our roof, replacing some guttering. I hope they finish before we get rain here. I think they will make it. 🙂
