We miss Sabor on Smyphony which is now Playmakers. Sabor had great chips, salsa, guac & margaritas which I now get from the Copper & Kettle pub. We don't care much for El Loco Fresh. Hooked is good also, they have fantastic fish sticks which melt in your mouth, spicy cheddar biscuits and good Boston Cream pie (cake).

Sorry. Sabor was one and done. Reminded us of Taco Bell. Margaritas were really bad

Just hard to enjoy a steak in Chops as they don’t cook on open flame.

...And they come frozen instead of fresh from the butcher.

Only things great at Chops are the Shrimp Cocktail (no rocket science) and I had already amazing tuna tartare, but this can be also a huge disapointment. But the steaks, sauces and sides nothing special.

Mac n Cheese is pretty good, plus that pork belly thing

both dishes are not to my liking, hence can't judge. Sound's like the Mac n Cheese is better than the instant ones you get landside then 😉

Actually, I'm a big fan of instant mac n cheese. 😉

Laura makes fancy, complicated ones, but nothing beats orange powder Kraft

OK, but wasn't aware that was a requirement

Where did I say Mac n cheese or pork belly “requires “ open flame.

Steaks, red meat, IMO, tastes much better when cooked properly on open flame.   I do see a few people eat their steaks medium well, and well done which in their case, I don’t think it matters how it’s cooked. That too is my opinion.

Anything more than medium rare is a hockey puck.  My wife, on the rare occasion she orders steak, asks for it well done.  I can't even look at it...  Chops steaks are "meh" but for a red meat eater like myself they are the about as good as you can expect at sea.

Big fan of Kraft's Mac and Cheese here. There is a taco joint here in town that is very popular for putting the orange cheese powder on top of their tacos. Great stuff!

I agree. I can grill a great filet at home with a special marinade that I make. I have not had a bad steak on any of Royal's ships,  as long as it is salt and peppered and cooking evenly at medium rare, I'm good.

Massive piles of Bacon in the Windjammer.

Most in my family would agree. They like that tissue paper thin greasy bacon on ship. I wish they had thick cut also or at least something in between. I don't much care for ship bacon and I do love bacon.

While I think the food on Royal is overall pretty good, I'm not sure I'm missing anything.

Maybe the Kummelweck sandwiches and salads from Park Cafe and cold soups from MDR.  I guess I'm blessed to live in an area with great food....and a family of great cooks. I, on the other had, can burn water.

Although I do miss the convenience of grabbing a few slices of  the new-and-improved Sorreto's pizza when heading back to the cabin after closing down the casino.

EDIT to add: Like others, I do miss the unlimited amounts of bacon. I never met a slice of bacon I didn't like. Thin and greasy or thick and chewy.....all yummy to me.
