I've decided to pull the plug on our Jan 2021 B2B cruises.  Will Carnival send me a reimbursement check or credit back my credit card?  That's a large chunk of money to go back on my card.  TIA

Don't know about CCL, But PCL put all of mine back on the card I used to charge the trip.

Good luck, maybe it will be a X-Mas present, not saying it will take that long, but.

Did you book a refundable deposit?

I booked early saver and switched to a casino offer earlier this year.  Also both cruises are paid in full with prepaid gratuities and OBC.

I've always read once early saver always early saver ... even if you price match to a casino offer.

Let us know please if this has changed. Did you ask anyone if you would get a full refund and they said yes? I'd be interested. At least they are doing refunds faster so you will know.

Carnival cancelled our January 2021 cruise. I filled out the form and within 24 hours i had credit on the 2 cards i had used.  I had a credit to visa and carnival master card.  I no long have the carnival master card so i called them and they are mailing a check.

I wanted to cancel but kept holding on to hope they would cancel me so i could get my deposit and insurance back.

I am confused.  Will they give you back your deposit if you cancel?  I thought CCL wasn't doing this even though RCL/X is.

Only if you booked a rate with a refundable deposit.

And rcl doesnt give you back your deposit either if you cancel. Right now you get fcc for the deposit, not a refund unless you booked refundable deposit. And cancelled before final payment.

I will keep you posted.  I haven't called yet because I was interesting in knowing how the credit would come back.  Thanks!

I filled out the form for our canceled March 2022 cruise and haven't heard a word other than an email stating they are looking into it.  The form was sent on Sept 22.

I just cancelled our December cruise on Saturday, the day before final payment was due (again). We had previously paid final payment for this cruise when it was originally scheduled in March, then was cancelled 2 days before it sailed. We rescheduled for December. We decided to cancel (so devastated!) because not only did we owe another $500, which we were willing to pay, but we found out that required Covid testing for non-medical reasons would cost us another $750 on top of that. Plus the uncertainty of everything right now.

Anyway, even though we had an Early Saver rate and had rescheduled the December cruise with a FCC from the March one, Carnival agreed to refund everything, including the non-refundable deposit. They said it will take up to 2 months, though.

Refunds go back to your original method of payment - if you don't carry a balance on the credit card, your card company will mail you a check after the refund is processed.  If you carry a balance, they'll just apply it up until the balance is paid off and send a check for the difference, or just credit the entire amount against any balance that exceeds it.

I called yesterday to cancel and was told that I would lose the deposit.  If Carnival cancels the cruise in January I will get the deposit back.  My PVP told me it's taking up to 3 weeks for the refunds to be processed.  I see today they canceled cruises to the end of December except for Miami and Port Canaveral.  We were to sail out of Galveston.  I'm leaning towards Carnival canceling in January also.

My PVP told me refunds were taking up to 3 weeks.  I sent my form in last week Tues and haven't seen a refund yet.  I will be calling back after 3 weeks if I don't see the refund!

Yep, sorry, the once early saver, always early saver hit you.

I will be watching and waiting for that refund.  I hope it doesn't take longer than 3 weeks.

My PVP Sept 30 said it would be 30 to 60 days.  I cancelled out of our Nov 21 cruise on he Breeze.  So if anyone needs a handicap assessable Ocean Suite, one is not available.   We will see how long that credit card refund takes.  Don

I have a 5 day cruise out of Mobile January 9, 2021, I booked it in January 2020 and never imagined the covid effect on cruises to last this long.

Now with access to ports on my own hinted at not being allowed not anxious to take this trip.  My final payment is coming up in 3 weeks and if Carnival cancels and offers OBC for another cruise can this be used to make final payment on another cruise?  My January 9th cruise was reduced to a very low price even with the single supplement so realize a new booking will be much more expensive.  Anyone dealt with this type situation?  Thanks.

Just an FYI. I cancelled our Nov cruise in August, just before final payment was due. The deposit was a nonrefundable. However, even though I canceled that far out on my own, now that the cruise has been canceled by Carnival I have been informed that  my deposit is being refunded to my cc. Was told it would be 5 to 10 business days but due to the increased number of cancellations  to process it might be longer.

You are indeed very fortunate.
but if the sailing was not cancelled, you would have lost your deposit

Yikes. That’s unfortunate.
