Favorite taxi driver?

Does anyone use the same taxi driver when your back in Cozumel? I always get a taxi for a couple of hours but sometimes have had a few who want to try to get us to go places we don’t want. We used to have our favorite Denial but his cell # has changed.

Tours Plaza has good drivers.  We've had a couple of different ones.  Very good.

 

There's other tours type agencies around with good reviews too.

 

From the port taxi stands, you're not likely to get the same person, maybe for a return from the beach, but unless you have contact informatin, there's no way to get a specific person.

 

Rule of thumb:  if you get into the cab or talk to the driver before getting in, and you're not comfortable with either lanuage skills or sense that the driver will take you where you want to go, get out of the taxi and have the taxi captain get you another taxi.

I book with Crescencio with Black Hat Cozumel, and have always had a great experience... He will take you wherever you want to go, and he won't try to convince you to go somewhere that you don't want to... Great guy, and a lifelong local who knows everything and everyone on the island...
