zjc Posted October 15, 2020 Author #3 Share Posted October 15, 2020 Seems a little extreme especially when they say the beds will be socially distant etc. Don’t mind masks indoors and outdoors when moving around but I think this is a step too far.

Rare livingonthebeach Posted October 15, 2020 #5 Share Posted October 15, 2020 The time has come when tan lines around your face has become fashionable. Never thought it would happen 🤣 1
bucfan2 Posted October 15, 2020 #6 Share Posted October 15, 2020 (edited) The more ridiculous these potential restrictions become, the more I'm enjoying jet skiing over cruising.....can't believe I'm finally admitting that my favorite form of vacationing may be a thing of the past. When cruising resumes, we'll be one of the first to go....that being said - our expectations will be extremely low and may fail to be achieved....starting to wonder if our comped cruises will be worth the port fees. Rare A&L_Ont Posted October 15, 2020 #7 Share Posted October 15, 2020 That’s what it reads but since no ship has sailed from NA one can only speculate what the rules will be. 1
Mapleleafforever Posted October 15, 2020 #8 Share Posted October 15, 2020 If that's the case I wonder if it changes the mind of those who have been stating that "I want to be on the first cruise out!". You just know there has to be time limits on pool use as well......

hallux Posted October 15, 2020 #10 Share Posted October 15, 2020 I recall a few years ago some companies toyed with material for "tan through" swimsuits. I wonder how effective that material would be in mask form?

Keksie Posted October 15, 2020 #13 Share Posted October 15, 2020 Just another reason to save my money and continue to go to the beaches close to home where masks are not required. 9

Slidell_Cruiser Posted October 15, 2020 #15 Share Posted October 15, 2020 (edited) I As currently written, masks required outside unless in the pool on the flowrider or on the walking track for a specified time. RCL words not mine. Your company, your policy, my money and time, so RCL cancelled 4 cruises I was on in 2021 and I will cancel my 6 remaining in 2021 under these conditions. If you are OK with this, great, cruise and have a good time. stay safe all Edited October 15, 2020 by Slidell_Cruiser
Rare little britain Posted October 15, 2020 #16 Share Posted October 15, 2020 Same site: Face Masks On Singapore cruises, face masks are required on the outer decks, except while riding the FlowRider. Sweeping statement but in my experience, the Asians/Singaporeans are not great sunbathers so there would be few lying round the pool anyway

Probably won't have much of an impact on the Singapore cruises as sunbathing is not popular among Asian cultures and those cruises are limited to Singaporeans. Who knows if the same requirements will be extended to cruises out of other parts of the world when they resume. Probably just depends on the current state of things whenever that is.

True, part of it is they have different beauty standards. While tanned skin is desirable here, they prefer lighter skin. It does have an advantage though, they have a lesser frequency of skin cancer.

My sunbathing days are long gone after a couple scares. When I was growing up in the 70's and 80's coming back from Spring Break with a great tan was the coolest thing ever. Now I cringe when I see people baking for hours on end with dark brown, leathery skin.
