Jamaica Now Charging Mandatory Insurance Fee

Jamaica is now charging a mandatory insurance fee for tourists.  I'm wondering if this applies to cruisers in for a day as well.  If so, Carnival will no doubt add this on to the fee prices.  I also wonder if other countries will do the same.

As of last week visitors to Jamacia were required to present results from a recent COVID test.  Anyone testing positive on arrival is put into a government operated 14 day quarantine.

Ship passengers are in normal times not required to get any permit.  We will find out when cruising begins.  The $40 fee included everything medical including repatriation.  Not a bad deal if one is there for a longer visit.
