Cheers has never been given away since it's inception in 2012 except for variations like the drinks on us card for gamblers to utilize in the casino and a variation for higher end gamblers to use it all over the ship.

I know we'll agree that the Havana area is the best thing that Carnival had come up with in years, eventhough it was just a reduced variation of what was already available on NCL with the Haven and MSC with the Yacht Club.

I learned a long time ago that I don't make the rules, I just play the game. And if this is the game that Carnival wishes to play, it's OK since there are many competitors that will be happy to take my money just as retirement is approaching and my two cruises per year will be increasing.

Are you really comparing Havana with The Haven and The Yacht Club?

I stated that it was a reduced variation.  It is Carnival's ship within a ship concept.   Obviously no dedicated restaurant,  but with the Havana area there are no unruly rug rats that can sometimes inhabitate the Haven or Yacht Club at certain times of the year. Haven is out of my price range, but I do have first hand experience on the Seaside's Yacht Club as well as the Havana area on two Horizon sailings.

As a Platinum, I got the offer. I'm not planning on booking anymore cruises since the last 2 were canceled until I know how all this is going to pan out. If I could give my offer to someone who wants to actually cruise, I would.

I have 2 cruises booked & would love to receive it!

To get back to the subject of this thread ( hint hint), I just received a second email for the Cheers package. Just an FYI, either do a mock booking and see if the option comes up in your booking choices, or double check you junk mail.

Also, this last email came from Carnival Players Club (I’ve never spent a cent in the casino), and the first came from Carnival Cruise Line, but both emails had same rate code of RU2.

Nope, just checked. I've resigned myself to I'm not carnivals target pax. If carnival doesnt care about getting my business it's ok.

On the plus side, maybe my price during hurricane season next year will fall and I still have early saver protection.

I don’t think I am either. I am Diamond, and just did the Splendor 24 night to Singapore last Oct. I get an interior cabin and don’t spend much money onboard. I don’t have anything booked with Carnival, and don’t plan to, unless the Celebration does a TA. Go figure! Life goes on 🍸

Same here. Last week, got the offer from Carnival and booked an 8 day for 11/2021. We never bought Cheers pkg before so we are excited! Today, got the offer again from Players Club. Certainly no high roller. Just the occasional slot machine 🙂

Hey stranger!  Got you beat, we are at 6 cancellations so far (one the day after the no sail went in place) and one the first week in February in the cross hairs (Mardi Gras 1st sailing - again...and again....and again).......being a lowly diamond, we got nothing.  Lastly, they are not transferable.

Ugh that stinks for you! I wish all this would go away so I can start making plans again. Mom really wants to go but it's just too much stress playing the guessing game. I know they aren't transferable but if they were, I would give you mine!

FUN is much better, good point.

You're really showing your pom poms with that statement Jimbo.  The only plus of Carnival's Havana is the 12+ age requirement.  I also inferred that Gary thought the Haven and Yacht Club were a step above Havana since those areas checked off many more boxes as to what was included.

Your rose colored glasses are permanently attached whenever Carnival is the topic.   They can do no wrong in your opinion the majority of the time.

I guess that's because your diamond shines so brightly. (Good enough attempt at humor?)

I report on my cruises and experience.  I have no other agenda.

wow. I am amazed still that this thread has lasted over 8 pages.

The power of "free alcohol". Hence why Carnival is running said campaign. In the end, many people might save a hundred or two. If you advertised $200 off, the response would be "meh". But instead, advertise alcohol, and people LOSE THEIR MINDS.

Hey Jimbo, I got you beat.

We are at 12 cancellations so far, six of them Costa.

After the 6th I started booking further out. Next up april 25th.

I feel confident I will be vaccinated by then, but I keep reading people saying april is toast. It's my best deal, I'll be so disappointed if cancelled. I dont care if I have to wear a mask
