Cancelled Casino Comp Cruises - Able to rebook?

I know a lot of us took advantage of the generous casino offers from April 2020. These included free stateroom, Princess Plus (wifi, drinks, gratuities), and Casino Free play. These were to be used on Caribbean cruises between January-May 2021.

With the newest wave of cancellations (all sailings until March 31,2021, and Cruises from US ports +7 days until November 1st, 2021), have any of you had luck moving your comp cruise to another date and retaining all the perks?

I think it's too early to tell. I don't think that the casino department has even opened for business this morning.

We received an email yesterday for $500 casino play, all the perks and 35% off any cabin.  When I compared pricing for the cruises available (winter 2020 and spring 2021), they had upped the price on all categories, so the 35% off would be the same price on what we were already paying.

We have a cruise in April 2021 with a great deal, free cabin, $500 casino, all the perks.  If that doesn't go, I would love to transfer to another time, late 2021 or spring 2022.  If they say no, I will ask for my money back - which I had to pay the tax, port tax, insurance upfront.  And I will not book any more cruises until ships have sailed for 6 months with no problems.

I no more than posted above, when I received four emails from Princess letting me know that they have cancelled my cruises for 2021.  I called princess to talked to the casino department, but they said that they were having phone problems and suggested that I email them

casinoinquiry@princess.com

I have sent them an email asking if I can have all perks and offers from my April 2021 cruise transfered to a date in 2022.  If they say no, then I want my money back.  The other cruise is just a $200 deposit using FCC - I will let that go back to our account and book something down the road.

If you email the casino department.  Give them your reservation number.

Been on the phone with the same agent for an hour. She has been amazing on trying to figure this out, and had to speak to a supervisor, and a manager to get clarity. Here is what I was informed and she notated everyone on my file for when I select another voyage and call back.

- all the new cancelled cruises are in 'paused' status, meaning they cannot do anything with them. For Casino comp cruises, everything will be refunded to original form of payment, NOT a FCC.

-  We have a 2 week window from today's cancellations to 'rebook'. If you rebook you will have to pay deposit, upgrade fees, taxes, etc again, they cannot carry payments from current booking (this will be refunded).

- In terms of which sailings you can rebook, they are using the voyages/dates in the most recent casino promo offer (my email was received on October 8th, 2020). Here are the basic details;

  • Must sail by December 15th, 2021
  • Voyages up to 7 days for Mexico/California Coast/Caribbean/Mediterranean
Voyages up to 10 days for Alaska
  • All perks from the original April offer (eg. Princess Plus, Casino Play, Cabin Type) will be applied.

I'm going to look at something later in the year to rebook so I don't lose these perks.

If anyone finds any other information, or has luck getting an exemption to rebook in 2022, please let us know.

Thanks flyboy88.  I've emailed them asking about rebooking options.  Sitting on hold all day isn't feasible for me.

If they email you the specifics, IE, which ships, which dates, which itineraries are available to rebook, please post here.  Thanks.

Edit to add, I used the email roxievegas provided and my email had bounced back.  The correct address to email is casinoinquiry@princesscruises.com

Hope that helps someone.

thank you iamaqt2 for the correction on my bad email address for the casino.

I sent an email, and figured I would wait until monday.  We are really going back and forth on taking the money and waiting until things go back to sailing, or rebook and then wait for the refund. I hate having my money tied up, even if it is a good deal.

Before our April casino cruise were cancelled I got another casino offer on the Majestic for June. I took advantage and added some perks that were not part of the offer so had to pay about $1K for two folks. The next day our email cancelling April B2B cruises arrived. I know I have or should get some prepaid money back but wonder if that could have been used on Majestic pre pay.  I have had so many cruises cancelled (7 to date) with FCCs being issued, I have totally lost track of what I owe and what Princess owes me.   I don't have a clue regarding Casino cash 🙂   Just get me back on board!

We had the great offer for a casino cruise this February. This week I got a mailing of free casino cruises, free balcony but no $ for casino and does not include the Plus package.  For our February cruise we paid about $3000 for port fees & taxes, first class air fare and upgrading our free ocean view to a Club Class mini.  We booked a free cruise to Hawaii for next December paying port fees & taxes, the Plus package, deposit etc and it cost approx $2000.  I asked about getting any of the perks moved over and they said no.  I asked if they could take the money we had previously paid to pay for the next one and they refund the difference, they said no.  So instead we'll end up waiting a few months for our refund but know we're getting a 15 day Hawaii cruise for $1000pp.  I'm not going to upgrade my cabin.  I probably won't fly first class and I'll save some of that refund for casino play.

@suekel As I had mentioned above, they are unable to move any money from one booking to another. If you booked the Casino offers for your current cruises I have been told by 2 agents that this will get refunded back to original form of payment; they do not issue FCC for cancelled Casino voyages.   If you decided to rebook you would have to pay upfront for taxes/port fees, upgrades, etc and wait for the refund.

As for the perks, myself and others have been able to book new cruises and have all perks added on as long as it met the restrictions I posted above. Perks is same category type of your original offer (in your case oceanview cabin), princess plus, casino cash.   If you want to upgrade your cabin they will price out the upgrade cost based on the new sailing you have chosen.

If the new cruise you're looking at meets the requirements above, and they still will not let you move the perks over, ask to escalate the call.   Myself and others have had no issues getting perks added to a new cruise, so it's possible the agent you spoke with was unaware or the correct process.  - Good Luck

Well, I sent an email on Friday to the casino department and have not had a response,  and over the weekend, my husband and I decided that we would not rebook.  We have had the cruise for April 2021 booked since April 2020.  It is a good deal, but not if we don't ever get to go.  I put in a request form this morning for our two cruises that were cancelled and I will see how long it takes to get the money back.

We will not book again until ships are sailing again, and if we can not get a good deal using the casino rate, we will book last minute cruises and hopefully get a good deal that way

Good luck to all, we are  just tired of the waiting game.

I received a casino rate for Enchanted transatlantic I booked to replace Sky TA for 9/21 cancelled this weekend.  My travel agent was surprised but not more than I was.  I cruise once a year, usually for 3 or 4 weeks, overseas and many times I'm told they don't qualify for casino rates.  If I was interested in the Caribbean, I'd probably pay more attention.  A few days ago, I received a last chance email! 🙂

You probably talked to the ‘rules’ lady who is just awful.  I’ve gotten her, decided to wait, called back and had a much more pleasant experience.  Call back!

I’ve got to call this week and try to change mine.

I sent my email last week to the Casino department, then cancelled the cruises and asked for full cash refund on Monday 11-23, then this morning when I was out I got a returned phone call from the Casino Department.

message left:

We have until May 2021 to rebook a future cruise and keep all our perks with the offer that was cancelled.  Cruise must sale by May 2022.   Call back at 1 888 772 6697

I called back, but the phone was rerouted to the main reservation number, she looked up our reservation and they had placed all the above info on my file.  But I still need to talk to them, so I have to send another email.

I will definitely rebook after the first of the year.  Just need to know if I have to change my full cash refund to FCC.  Will wait for another call.

If you read the fine print some offers are available for 3 bookings.

if you had acruise cancelled and that code is still active you can still use it to make another booking.

We did this yesterday for another comped fare cruise

I used suggested email address to talk about offered cruise and credits.  Last chance to book under one promotion  is Nov 30th.   Response to my email said they would contact me by Dec 4.  Shoud be an interesting conversation 🙂

If you try calling when they open you should get through. Called twice this week when they opened and was put through, called mid day a couple weeks back and was told to use the email address but we didn’t receive a respinse
