And to that end , where humans are not willing to let millions die , a vaccine is here , treatments are here in a little over 7 months . The world had witnessed many different attempts many countries attacking it in different ways  from lockdowns like Italy where you can’t go 135 past your house to nothing at all...but at the end of the day it will be a vaccine and effective treatment.

This charade will eventually end and people will go back to living life.  The only other options are a virus mutation or a proven vaccine.  We can't outsmart or hide from a community spread virus.

We locked down, we wore masks, we cancelled schools, shut down restaurants, issued stay at home orders all for nothing.  The numbers are now exploding again everywhere, actually some places that opened the earliest the first round are doing better than areas where there was a draconian government overreach.  None of it mattered.

It will be a danger you will face in life.  You may get COVID, you may get the flu, you might die in a car crash or a tree limb may fall on you during your morning walk.

The virus can kill millions or the rate of spread can be slowed to where millions that didn't need to die are spared. Humans aren't willing to let millions die needlessly.

He says it best.  Logic is not the answer, the vaccine is.  It is a testament to humankind.  It will not be conquered by mandates, or masks, or politics.  The vaccine and in the herd immunity.  We owe THAT to science.  That is what will have us sailing at the right time.

Work on vaccines began in January, 2019 - before the first death in the US. Treatments are better, but there aren't any miracle cures. The percentage of deaths is decreasing, but because the number of new cases are exploding, the daily death count is still increasing.

There were various methods tried to slow the virus down;  the nothing at all countries still utilized common sense tactics such as social distancing by populations who mostly understand social responsibility and possessed common sense. At the end of the day, the apparent solutions are vaccines and effective treatments. It's sad that more people died than needed to, and are still dying with new records being set almost daily. We are not out of the woods yet, but the future is looking better.

The lock downs, mask wearing, etc were at best partial with lax enforcement. People still traveled freely spreading cases wherever they went. Me Me Me attitudes and lack of acceptance of personal and social responsibility toward others combined with poor leadership cost many thousands their lives. Too many died in vain. Hopefully by the end of the day, there will be an effective pandemic response plan law.

We don't live in a society we can simply shut down.  People don't live at home on the farm where they can subsist independently.  People need food and supplies, they get those from retailers on a routine basis.  There isn't enough volume in the supply chain for everyone to buy a few months supply of everything even if we wanted too.  Grocery stores are 2 days supply away from causing sheer pandemonium on any given day as it is.  To buy those supplies people need to work, most don't have the savings to sit at home for a few months and they don't get paid if not working.  For those supplies to be available the farmers need to work, the meat plants need to be processing, the truckers need to be on the road, the utility workers need to keep the power and water on.  It goes on and on.

That doesn't even begin to hit on the 'essential worker' aspect of all this.  Even for those who do have the ability to truly isolate, they are only able to do it because other people took public jobs doing things like grocery pickup and delivery.  They can only isolate because someone else is shouldering their risk.  There are people across this land whose daily life is the same now as it was in December 2019.  They go to work daily, in the public where the virus is, doing a job that enables someone to sit in the safety of their home pointing fingers on the internet.

But now the CDC is changing the quarantine time, to a shorter time than 14 days,

Part political and part trying to pacify activists who refuse a 2 week quarantine. It isn't the best, but better than nothing.

You wear the masks and social distance to protect the front line and essential workers. It's the least you can do to thank them.

The CDC wants to treat cruise ships in a far different way than it treats commercial airlines.  Perhaps the fact that cruise ships are owned by foreign companies makes them an easier target than the domestic airline industry?  I can hardly wait to get on a cruise ship and have no desire to fly anywhere.
