If you noticed,  the promotion is good for 1 year starting on 6/1/21, if cruising doesn't resume until  8/1/21, then it should be good until 7/31/22.

I didn't know it was extended into 2022. I'm already booked for 1/22/22 with a good price. I doubt the offer will make sense for us.

Our PvP has confirmed the offer can't be applied to the equivalent 2022 cruise to Norway. There are plenty of cruises where it remains valid, but not that one. Same itinerary, same duration, roughly the same price, but no inclusive Cheers. Still, $600 OBC should cover the drinks bill if past cruises are a guide, but I won't sampling every whisky on board now, and my wife won't be trying the full range of flavoured gins...

Thanks both. Very helpful.

if you phone Carnival directly, they will immediately transfer your funds already paid, from the cancelled Cruise to the new cruise and also gift you $600 OBC.

Your travel agent can also do the same.

For the new Cruise, you have to choose the code which includes the drink package.

It's a Win-Win situation and $600 OBC is the best incentive for rebooking another Cruise with a free Cheers 🥂 🍺 package

Have now searched the Carnival offers. The code is still available for loads of cruises, but sadly not the one we were most interested in. We used the code to book the Norway fjords from London (Dover) for July 2021, but it's not available on the same cruise for 2022.

For the Norwegian fjords, I recommend the MSc splendida on September 2nd 2021.

It's a 10 night Cruise with a good possibility of seeing the northern lights.

Very reasonably priced.

I do not see anything normal on the OFF CHANCE cruising returns in 2021. I wouldn't book until 22 at the absolute earliest.

Don't listen to the people here who book / cancelled / book / cancelled / book like robots thinking Carnival is cruising in April / June / August etc.

We came to that same conclusion. I am hoping our March 2022 one sails, though.

I'm with you.  We booked a March 22 Sailabration cruise shortly after it was announced and still hope to be on it.

Meanwhile I still have a September cruise on the books but will cancel it unless Carnival cancels it first.

So is the difference between RU1,RU2, RU3, etc just the location of the cabin? My code is RX1, Im in an inside spa room. Is my understanding the codes dont reflect a larger discount or more perks?

No, but cabin type is often also a factor in code applicability (not size of discount): RU9 doesn't apply to inside cabins, for example.

The main difference is the amount of actual real discount you get.  RU2 gets a far better overall discount than RU9 (comparing same cabin types).

Never heard of RX1.  As ProgRock mentioned,  the codes as they increase give you a lesser discount.  RU1 seems like it's the highest discount, then RU2 and RU3.   The RU9 was only good for OV and above cabins and wasn't really a discount at all.

I called and they said the offer isnt listed in my offers I cant have it. You cant just book the code yourself, but thanks. I had a couple of the codes from the last thread.

It's ok, I will continue to not book carnival as I consider it unfair. My choice. But I've tried to call and get it.

It is really not as a great a bargain as it sounds. The base price of the cruise is adjusted for the "free" drink package. It is a savings over booking the cruise and buying drink package separately, but Cheers is definitely not free; you are getting the drink package at a discount. (It's similar to many  "free OBC" promos;  you can often find cheaper rates where the savings is about the cost of the "free" OBC.)

And if you're utilizing the RU1 code, the savings is a substantial discount.   The "free OBC" promotion you're referring to would be with the RU9 code.  Major difference.

Since you don't think it's not as great of a bargain as it sounds,  what are the other variations and codes involved?

I've received several offers, but none of them are for cruises as far out as ours is (Oct. 2022).  I keep waiting.  We've talked about how much extra we would be willing to pay for that.  I figure there would be some discount.  Hopefully, they will send an offer soon for cruises in late 2022.

Don't hold your breath.  The RU1, RU2 and RU3 discount codes were sent to a chosen few to spur sporadic bookings on cruises for the short term.  Ever since Cheers has started back in 2012, there has never been a promotion like this and the pandemic was the inspiration for it to spur additional short term bookings in order to generate revenue.
