Belle Posted December 7, 2020 Author #26 Share Posted December 7, 2020 Hello All Mel and Diana the only thing with a new computer is some places have to sign in again and then they say your password or ID isn't right when you know it is. #&*^z! Come on! Everyone enjoy the day? Hope so.
melmar02 Posted December 8, 2020 #27 Share Posted December 8, 2020 Diana, when I was growing up, our next door neighbor had a hovercraft. He would take care of all the leaves in his yard in just seconds. It was so much fun to watch as a kid, but my parents sure hated it! It's in the upper 60's here today and in the 70's the next couple of days. We're going to be able to get in some good outdoor time the next few afternoons! Belle Posted December 9, 2020 Author #30 Share Posted December 9, 2020 Jan I did that because know one was around and talking. Our little group isn't talking that much. I miss everyone talking. I now we're tired of staying home and not having much to say or report on but need to come on and say Hello at least and that's what I did. Hope you and your family are doing well. Saw you had really bad weather in Maine. Did it effect you in your town? I have something to report, I booked a cruise to Hawaii for Dec. 2021. Free more or less from casino and it's a balcony. You know how much I save as a solo? Just hope it sails. Only have Europe b2b's booked for July and who knows if they will sail. No b2b's in USA but Europe should be a go but who knows. Wait and See is the game right now. Hope everyone is having a good week so far. My eating hasn't been to good but not really bad just not what/where I want to be on my eating at this time. Is it because of all the stuff going around us? Virus, Election that should be over, Winter? Who knows? Just tired of Everything. You to? But not giving up. You to? Take care...stay safe....😷
melmar02 Posted December 9, 2020 #31 Share Posted December 9, 2020 Belle - nice cruise! My son wants to do a cruise in Hawaii - how could I say no to that request. It will probably be his high school graduation gift though so I've got about 10 years to plan. Is it 7 day? I went when I was in high school and we visited a couple of islands. Lots of fun! We had pizza last night. Hoping to stay the same for weigh in tomorrow.
retiring soon Posted December 9, 2020 #32 Share Posted December 9, 2020 Hi all! Belle ~ I wondered about that hello goodbye too! Great re the new cruise. Yes I'm getting tired of it all too but will carry on. At least I haven't gained the Covid weight people talk about! I'm thinking about whether to get the vaccine when offered. What do you all think about it? melmar02 ~ the tea was as you imagined, for some. I didn't have the little sandwiches & scones as I'm not a fan of the latter, so just had soup, a nice roast beef, carmelized onions & brie sandwich that came with a colourful salad followed by Christmas pudding with 2 dollops of whipped cream & the yummy sauce. The tea room is so nicely decorated & the presentation of the food pretty. Once I went & a group of ladies wore fascinators but generally there are no fancy hats. Rose ~ glad to hear your DD tested negative. Well, my 2nd cruise in Feb was cancelled & Carnival has refunded the money to my c/card already. I went to cancel the flight to New Orleans & put the money towards flights to Miami for next Oct. & instead of getting $595 credit I got $931 so that was a nice surprise! Dec 4 was my birthday & one of the scratch tickets my DB gave me won $20 so good day all around. Hope you all have a good day & stay safe. ~ Jo ~ 😊
winewanderer Posted December 9, 2020 #33 Share Posted December 9, 2020 Hi Everyone, Belle, nice cruise you have booked. We've cruise Hawaii a few times, usually roundtrip from L.A. area or one way from L.A. then fly back from Hawaii. Yes, we are also tired of everything. Sadly, things will only get worse. Jo, sorry your cruise was cancelled. But at least you put the money towards something for next October. We can only hope things are better then. Glad you enjoyed the tea. Ha ha Mel, that hovercraft is a great idea. In the war of us against the leaves, the leaves are winning. We decided to order a leaf blower. It already came yesterday. We tried it out in the backyard, it's great, will help a lot. Our front and backyards are all bark with trees, bushes, plants so trying to rake is...well....pointless. All the bark gets raked into the leaves. Not much new here. Staying home as much as possible. Diana
Belle Posted December 9, 2020 Author #34 Share Posted December 9, 2020 Hello All....Hope your day is going well. Mine so far so good. Yesterday beside booking the cruise was one of those days. Had phone calls to make and you know how those goes. Not a real person, then transfer to a real one then another. Still not getting what you want. This on a few calls. What happen to the days when you talked to a person the 1st time and they knew the answer? Mel...It's a 15 day. If you can try to go before 10 years. Hawaii is beautiful. I like the smaller islands. Honolulu is nice but a big city unless you go out farther. Don't tell anyone but I had pizza this week to.😋 Jo...Belated Happy Birthday Wishes. Glad you had a good day. Your tea sounds fun. Sorry your cruise were cancelled. We're all doing pretty good in in here with the virus weight. We've all been holding are own pretty well. I think I will take the vaccine but not for awhile, see what happens first. Think it will take awhile anyway because Dr.'s and nurses and such should get it 1st. Diana...Yes love the Hawaii cruises. I've done the round trips from LA and SF. Love them. Did a couple of land visits too. But love the sea days getting there. Don't we all have a cruise booked that we can look forward to? Least gives us something to look forward to (hoping they go) at this tiring time. I think Hanukkah starts Thursday night. 1st day of winter is the 21st Christmas Eve and Day 24th and 25th. New Years Eve and Day 31st and 1st. Are you ready? The month and time is going by so Fast!
Ombud Posted December 9, 2020 #35 Share Posted December 9, 2020 Yes Hanukkah starts tomorrow so 8m trying to wrap things up .... and my dtr called last night to say she's coming home ..... apparently tired of him just hanging around waiting for another unemployment stimulus weekly check. I'm not ready for this. Stressing out 🤯 Am we the only ones getting stressed? Belle, I'm here and reading daily but ---- Diana, do you still have ICU beds? The leaves are winning here too but I'm making so much candy I only get out an hour or two so I have blinders on Jo, nice to have a refund from CCL! I truly believe cruise liners are trying to do their best. Mel, would you cruise to Hawaii from SF or LA? Which ship?
winewanderer Posted December 9, 2020 #36 Share Posted December 9, 2020 Jo, I missed your bday on Dec. 4th. Happy Birthday. Ombud, we just have an announcement today that out ICU capacity is below the 15% threshhold, currently 14.4%. Our stay-at-home order goes into effect tomorrow night. Sorry you're stressed out. Ombud Posted December 9, 2020 #37 Share Posted December 9, 2020 Happy Belated Birthday, Jo 🎂 Off to my son's in a few hours to drop off fudge, biscotti, chocolate spoons. Decided it was easier to have them in his house rather than mine (so I cannot eat it). Will light candles but not stay for dinner or gifts. Belle Posted December 10, 2020 Author #38 Share Posted December 10, 2020 Sorry Ombud you don't feel comfortable staying at your sons for your holiday. I'm sure it's because of the virus and not the food you might eat. Can I tell you all the stuff you made or bought sounds good. How long is daughter staying? Hope won't be to stressful. Diana...Glad your use to staying home now you have the order to stay home. Hope people do it, things will get better if they do. Plus wear the masks on their face covering their nose too not just the mouth. Why don't they understand this.
