If you refare you will be at prevailing rates and lose the Black friday bonuses(wifi package and reduced deposit).  Still worth a  look to see if the benefits are worth the change

I made a courtesy hold booking today and they completely waived my deposit.   So basically I have a courtesy hold for 4 months.

Good to hear this!  I made a courtesy hold booking on a casino offer about 3-4 weeks ago and was getting a bit worried about it.  HAL has a ton of my money already, which will more than pay for this cruise, so I do not want to give them more!

Curious where you saw the V&V promo today?  All I see is the Have It All promo that's now only applicable to Alaska 2022 itineraries.

Yay 😀 just got view and verandah added, free gratuities, one night special dining and signature beverage package and only paid CDN $132.00 per person extra.  18 day cruise.  First time it worked to have more value than additional expense.  April 2022 cruise, thinking that time frame has to be good to go.

We re-fared our cruise.  Same perks as we had booked, except for loss of Canneleto, kept our same cabin and saved $700.00 total!  Happy campers today.....thank you HAL

I rebooked my courtesy hold cruise with the new promotion.  Interestingly many of the shore excursions disappeared!

We re-fared today and saved $1000. The first quote I got didn't include pre-paid hotel service charges, but I pointed out that the website shows that as a bonus through 5 January.

I know so good.  Our first go around on view and verandah they didn't add the gratuities so another call and we got it.  Said the same thing about the January 5th, date.  Anyway very good deal. Score.

Were you able to just re-fare?  They made me re-book which I wasn't too happy about.  But, the rep said he could get the fare but couldn't get the perks added unless he re-booked.

We did not have to rebook. Just re priced the per person rate and left the prepaid grats, drink pkg and dinner at Pinnacle but we did lose our complimentary Canaletto dinner, which was on our original booking.  Saved $700.00 Canadian ( abt $900.00 US).  Kept same booking number.  Have no idea why you had to rebook.

I kept the same booking number. The perks were changed to the new V&V offer including the prepaid gratuities.

In the past when they offered the "free beverage package" there were gratuities that passengers had to pay so it wasn't really free.  It now seems that HAL are not charging the gratuities on the beverage package on this new V & V promotion.  This is what we were told by the HAL person.   Correct?

I was on a cruise several years ago where the free beverage package was offered and the gratutites were included.  It was one of the first times that HAL offered it and there was some confusion about how to use the cards, so it had to be early on for this promotion.

Happy with my V and V changes!  I had a Signature Suite on a 14 day cruise on Rotterdam.  I rebooked into two adjacent verandas, added the preceding 7 cruise.  I transferred the deposit to one room (onboard booking $50) so only have to pay deposit for the added room.  ALL FOR LESS than my original pricing.  Even though I lost some of the perks from a previous promo, it's perfectly fine and perks I'd give up for what I've got now.

From the Terms & Conditions:

 

One Night Specialty Dining: Guests receive a one-night complimentary dining offer at either Pinnacle Grill or at Tamarind. Reservations and dining times will be assigned onboard, and a confirmation card will be placed in your stateroom upon embarkation day.  Dining venue is based on ship type. Offer excludes Specialty Dining Events in the Pinnacle Grill such as Sel De Mer, De Librije, Master Chef’s Table and Sommelier Dinner.

I'm guessing that it's also applicable to Canaletto since not all ships have Tamarind.

There are are a few specialty restaurants so I think Pinnacle Grill would be one of the choices.  There are about 4 on some ships.

Thanks!  So, at some point, presumably before we board, we would get to choose which specialty restaurant we'd like?

I was able to switch from the Have it All promo (booked last June because I had a very large FCC that was expiring) to the View and Verandah Promo for my July 2021 Alaska cruise, saving $600 per stateroom (I booked 2 suites to take family.)  It took an hour on the phone with Big Box TA and the HAL pricing department.  I kept the same staterooms, and the large FCC.  I lost the internet package (didn't want it for a 7 day cruise) and lost dinner in the Canaletto (no big loss there.) I gained the shore excursion discount.  Plus the View &Verandah amenities.

 

I hope this Alaska cruise goes, as it is to replace the July cancelled 2020 family  cruise.
