Mt. Pelee has hiccups.

Martinique is experiencing new significant seismic activity at the base of Mt. Pelee. It's an active volcano, it's going to erupt again, my guess 60-80 months max.

I certainly hope we get to see the island again before it gets wiped out AGAIN. I love this island, the killer volcano is a bit much.

Recently, I've been hearing

a lot more about La Soufriere in St. Vincent,

and nothing at all about Mont Pelee in Martinique.

St. Vincent has a new and growing-larger lava dome, down in the crater.

A crew from the Seismology Unit in Trinidad is on site,

monitoring it daily if not more frequently.

In 1902, Mont Pelee cut loose to destroy the town of St. Pierre

at its base. It didn't kill the whole island, just the Northern tip.

Much additional info, here...

Thanks for the info.

I was on Mt. Pelee about 2 years ago, spent my entire life on a mountain somewhere. Mt. Pelee an active volcano does nothing for me.

St. Vincent what's that?

The 1902 wipe out already heard that story before from Christelle our tour guide. They don't have to worry about that happening again, 100 year's later there's still nothing left of anything. I was there. Later
