100% agree! They never were and they never will be.

The 4 passengers were tested negative during embarkation and positive after debarkation. The timing and length of the cruise suggest that they had been infected before the cruise.
 

This shows that all testing can do is reducing the risk... there will always be fish slipping through the net.  So the onboard protocols are necessary to prevent spread. And it worked. Good thing: The fewer fish out there, the fewer slipping through the net...

 

No matter what we do, we’ll have to live with small outbreaks in the future. Controlling them is the key...

 

As mentioned I wouldn’t cruise right now because traveling is not the most reasonable thing at this time. But not all is always black and bad...

 

BTW: TUI have a Covid Protection Plan included in their fare. It pays for the isolation cost etc. Only the 4 infected passengers are still in isolation.

I think they tested positive prior to debarkation. 

 

They may well have been infected before the cruise which is an indication that testing alone is not reliable. It will never be known how many other guests tested clear for debarkation but went on to become infected from that cruise so I agree, not safe to consider cruising for some time to come until all vaccinated.

Not quite correct... TUI sail under regulations approved by Germany and the Canary Islands. All passengers are traced and any cases need to be reported... None infected!

But yes, they were tested prior to debarkation. It´s part of the debarkation process... the test is required to fly home.
