Agree...nice to remember the good times and look forward to them returning someday, somehow, somewhere...As so many of us seem to really enjoy sea days it could be a message to planners that there could be a good take up on cruises to no where....

Being in a comfy chair on Deck 15 Port side on S Class with a Mojito and a big cigar. Sure would beat being in this sub zero weather, coldest ever in my lifetime.

I didn't either!  We went to the "Afternoon Tea" at 4p.m. in the Oceanview Cafe and were very disappointed!  The scones were horrible and I had really looked forward to those.

Our favorite "day at sea" consists of a few strawberry daiquiris by the pool while much of the crowd is off the ship in Nassau.

we are booked on a transatlantic for April 2022, has 8 days at sea, hopefully won't be too many, though I expect lots of relaxation and quiet down time. The most consecutive days at sea we have ever had were two, was just wonderful.

I am one of those who love transatlantics because I look forward to sea days more than ports. I'm a couch potato by nature and my idea of a vacation is laying by the pool and reading a nice book (I still like the feel of real books as opposed to a kindle), interrupted every so often for some music (classic rock, thank you very much), a game of trivia, a dip in the pool, maybe a mid afternoon poker tournament, burgers and fries for lunch and a walk around the ship people and sea watching. Sit on my veranda for an hour or so before dinner watching the wheels go round and round followed by dinner at 6 with friends, an hour of games by Celebrity Central and then we might take in a show and then it's off to the casino to play poker til the game breaks up (always meet the nicest people at the poker table). Rinse and repeat. My wife wonders how I can do the same thing every day and I tell her 7 or 8 sea days is simply not enough, I can do this for weeks at a time and not get bored. We've cruised different lines but we prefer Celebrity by far for its service, amenties, and (I don't mean this in a snobbish way) the level of sophistication of fellow travelers. Maybe it's because we go on transatlantics a lot but we find the friendliness and intelligence of our cruise mates a step above. We love running into people we've met on other cruises along with recognizing crew members who are always so friendly and helpful. I enjoy striking up conversations with people and finding out about where they're from, what they do, their kids, etc. It usually takes me two or three days to unwind from the stresses of life (still work full time) but once day four comes around I'm usually in "full relaxation mode" and nothing can bother me. Food not cooked quite right? No problem. Dripping faucet in our stateroom? No problem. Bad night at the card or craps table? We'll get 'em tomorrow. 

Favorite part of the cruise? That moment when you get past security, all papers in order, and you politely tell the photographer you don't want your photo taken. At that point I know we're good to go.

Least favorite part? Definitely waiting for luggage at end of cruise. Just so sad to be leaving.

Anyhow, plan on being on the Edge come April 22, 2022 leaving out of Fort Lauderdale heading east (our first time on the Edge and our first time going east instead of west) on our sunset veranda. Say hey if you run into me, I'll be the one with the big smile on his face and my head buried in a book. And if you play poker with me, know that I bluff. Sometimes.

 Bailey's and coffee served in the room by our butler.

 Breakfast in Luminae

 Walk around the deck, weather permitting, or just decks 4 and 5 of the ship -- 

 Visit the Retreat Lounge for a light cocktail (gin & tonic or gin and cranberry), rest and relax

 Stop in the casino to spend a little time with the slot machines and video poker.

 Lunch at Raw on Five (or Sushi on Five) 

 Nap in the room,  on the balcony, and or another visit to the retreat lounge for another cocktail or two. 

 Back to the casino 

 Pre-dinner wine or coctail in the retreat 

 Dinner at Luminae 

 Show and or another trip to the casino -- wine or cocktails 

 Maybe a nightcap in the Retreat Lounge

 Off to bed. 

 

 We love the simple things in life.
