We too enjoyed the CC HH in the Sky Lounge. IMO, I feel the elimination of the CC HH is only going to be temporary when and if cruising ever resumes.  Also hopefully the AI concept is short lived.  No one can say or really knows if this whole AI concept will last. But we always took the CBP as one of our bundled perks.

I too woud hope that the elimination of the CC HH in the Sky Lounge is a temporary Covid-19 precaution rather than a permanent change.

AI and beverage packages aside, it is a great place to enjoy the view and meet others in a more relaxed setting.

Celebrity would say, you are still welcome to go to Sky Lounge and enjoy your cocktails and the view, and meet people.  We are just eliminating the appetizers, and won’t have the Captain’s Club host there restricting access. We reply, we will miss both of those features

I had seen the same, I am rather hoping that that they may offer 1/2 times per cruise specific Elite evening events. Nothing to do with free drinks (as we will all have them anyway) but perhaps with some musical offering, celebration of the most cruised....Something of the tradition of Elite events?

Whilst I know you can meet good company at any bar on a Celebrity ship we have always found company at Elite events to be very enjoyable.

And most pax were dressed in better than shorts and sneakers.

Seems now comfy casual..come as you are?????

And we will. Like in the past we'll adjust to any new changes as we have in the past. FWIW, I've called the Captains Club and have expressed my (our) dissatisfaction with this decision and hope it's only temporary.

I'll be there with you in the Sky Lounge.  FWIW I don't need the snacks.

By making the Sky Lounge available for the Elite Cocktail Hour, it made us feel special.  Did we need the appetizers?  No,  as we would be eating soon.  But it was a really nice gesture.  A major reason for going was to meet up with new acquaintances in a less crowded environment.

I will feel special just being able to board the dang ship!

Agree the CC HH in the Sky Lounge was nice. We would have one or two drinks, sometimes an appetizer than off to the MDR for 6:00 PM SD reservations.  Sometimes we would talk with others sometimes not. We're convinced the elimination of the CC HH event is only going to be temporary. 🍷

Thank you for this information.  Sad to hear this as on our last cruise, we had the 5-7 pm options around the ship at bars as well as the cocktail hour in the Sky Lounge with appetizers.  That venue was great in meeting fellow cruisers and the views were spectacular.

You don’t need to have a special lounge to meet “fellow cruisers”.   You can meet them at any bar or venue.

But you have to agree that the Sky Lounge is a relaxing area and not like the craziness around the bar scene with people being impatient ordering drinks and trying to cut ahead of others.

Absolutely.  The Sky Lounge is a great place to have a drink and often watch the ship sail out of a port.

I actually found it to be worse.   We attended to try it out.  We also had the premium bev pack.   We sat there patiently waiting for a server.   A male passenger sitting at a table in front of us had 3 beers while we were still waiting.   The server walked past him to try to get to us and he wanted to place another order.   She said she had to wait on others before him again.

I ordered a premium beer using my package.  As the server came with our order he jumped up and grab the beer off of the tray.   She argued with him and said it was a premium beer and he had to pay for it.   He  told her to F off.  Security was called and he was escorted away

Most times when we went there it was always the same.  Passengers trying to down as many as they could in 2 hours and and always calling out to the server to order  another drink.

We stopped going as for us it wasn’t that relaxing, even though the people watching was interesting.

With the premium pack we could always find a more relaxing comfortable lounge or bar.

Don’t know how it will change with all bars being open for the HH but if it gets too bad I can do without a drink for a few hours.

Seems you encountered the expectation rather than the rule.  I've never seen that behavior in the Sky Lounge, drink package or not.    It's going to be tough to get a drink with this all inclusive unless you grease the palm of your favorite bartender.

Never seen anything like this at the CC event although once or twice we have had to wait a short while for a drink.  In contrast when we were on Allure (RC) we struggled to get a seat in the Diamond lounge, let alone a drink!

If guests are drinking from the more limited CC menu I guess this speeds things up as the bar tender can pour several drinks at a time for the waiter to gather and deliver. If more guests are requesting premium drinks then I can understand it slowing down service...

We do tend to go for our pre dinner drinks fairly early as we are not late diners and on Celebrity the only place we have had to really wait for a drink was at the Martini Bar.

Since I travel solo and an Elite member I've always enjoyed these events as a great way to meet others in a smaller venue. I did 2 shore excursions with a couple I met there.  Another solo cruiser would save a seat for me at the bar every night.

The nice thing about attending Elite events is you know you have a shared interest (cruising generally and Celebrity specifically) to start with.

Much as we have met nice people in many ship venues I do think the Elite cocktail events offer a really good mix and mingle opportunity.

We have similar experiences, felt like a Carnival Cruise on spring break with open bar.

Bar staff overwhelmed with impatient customers, but even with the premium pkg the choices were limited. We no longer bother to attend, usually end up at Cellar Masters for a nice glass of wine.

Perhaps not in the majority- but we found the sky lounge for the cocktail hour very crowded.  The house drinks weren't good- so we always asked for a premium drink as we had the premium beverage package.  The appetizers were mostly horrible, IMO.  So unless something special was going on, we always skipped.

Some people enjoyed this event- but not for me.  Typically also a large herded crowed by the door, which in today's environment not a good idea. The lounge is beautiful, with a great oceanview- so nice to come and enjoy a drink from the bar at an off time when the bar is open.  Nice place to relax without the crowd.

I for one found that to be true. Love meeting new interesting people also enjoyed chatting with the CC host more so when we found out we grew up close to each other as kids both originally from London, UK.   I always sat at the bar and never found it overcrowded as by 6 pm many left for dinner.
