2-18-21 Thursday Weigh-In---Only WE Can Lose Our Weight

Belle, how did your soup turn out?

It got up to 55 yesterday and 65 today. We're supposed to hit 71 on Tuesday. Hard to believe it was -2 less than a week ago. BIL and family said their insurance company is going to repair quite a bit from the busted pipe, but they set the expectation that most restoration companies are already booked several months to a year out.

The kids tried and liked tilapia a couple weeks ago, so we tried barramundi tonight and it was a hit too. Now if I could only get them to eat more veggies. We're having chicken with chard and acorn squash tomorrow.

Mel, oh that's so great that the weather is improving. Forgot to say last time that it's great your weight was back down.

Nice your kids will try different foods. Your dinner tomorrow sounds great.

In CA our area is doing very well with the drop in cases so we hope to move to a slightly less restrictive category in the next couple of weeks. We'll see.

Our weather too has been in the 60's and sunny. Nice.

Have a nice evening, Diana

Hello Diana and Mel

Mel glad Tx having better weather, How strange weather is. From minus to the

50's. Glad your sister has insurance. Just tell her be careful, some insurance will

will drop you after you make a claim, not fair but they do it. know a few people

it's happen to.

The soup really turn out good. Glad I have left overs.  Glad your kids like fish, good for you.

I don't like fish at all no matter how it's fixed.

Diana glad your area might change and get more things open for the people who's

business's are hurting. But we still have to be so careful with all these different strains

coming out. Nice the weather is warming up.

Had a nice day again, son and daughter came over for lunch again. Been seeing them more

then normal. With son not working he can come when daughter is off. Probably won't

see them again for a couple of weeks or so.

Hope everyone has a good week coming up.  Don't know how I will do Thursday. Been

eating a little to much and ice cream, an off week.  Trying to get back on track.

Take care everyone

LUCILLE is back.  I’ve been hoping for a good loss this week.  The scale has been stuck in same spot until this morning. Shock, dismay, 😱 I’m up 4lbs no change in diet.

Oh well .  Took a long walk this morning. Ventured on a new trail.  will work in yard this afternoon.  Was 70 yesterday should be the same today.

Finally made it back to the dog park before breakfast and hope it stays warm enough to keep at it. It will be easier to lose weight (IMHO) if I exercise 2× day.

Mel, good to hear from you. News pictures of conditions around the country are frightening.

Diana, are you in the red tier? We seem to be a little behind you so hoping 🤞

Izena, everyone doing yard work inspires me to revamp mine. Think ill plant an oak tree 🌳 as I now know our climate has permanently changed. No more watering yards. The only question is which oak.

Susan, I also find Belle's inspiring.

Hubby's vaccine that was supposed to happen today is rescheduled for this Saturday due to a delay of vaccine shipments caused by weather.

Hope everyone is having a good day. I've been watching what I eat. Hopefully I lose this Thursday.

About 75 here today, very windy. I ended up weeding our whole backyard today (it's all bark plus plants, trees so easy to pull the weeds, just a lot of them). It was too nice to be inside. Hey, exercise right?

Take care, stay safe, Diana

Good Afternoon Diana, Ombud and everyone.

We all seem to be quiet in here except Diana....this year has

gotten to us all I think. Me I  know and maybe others really

have nothing exciting to say. The days just go by and sometimes

don't feel like talking that much. Do you all feel like that from time to time?

We still need come in here to keep us aware of our weight to at LEAST

stay the same and not GAIN. Main thing is to LOSE but with everything going on

and not going on...can make it hard on some of us stick to a plan and lose  at this time.

Not an excuse just what it is...SO------------

STAYING THE SAME is better than GAINS!  So don't give up---WE still try to lose

that's what we want but no gaining is a victory to at this time too.

Diana great you got exercise and a yard free of weeds. Glad you had nice weather

for it.  Sorry your husband has to wait for his shot but he's still getting it which is good.

Ombud glad your able to go to the dog park again and walk bet your dog is happy too.

Hope your ALL having/had a good Tuesday.

Hi all.  I too have been doing yard work today.  I believe that some people call it crepe murder.  Actually trimming crepe myrtles.  Also called Princess today trying to move 2 seven day cruises to a 14 day in February of next year.  Unfortunately I had already moved those cruises one time and since they are casino deals they won't let me move them.  They did say if they cancel them they would possibly do it.  The cruises are in June and July.  I will go if they sail but we are going to be doing major renovation of our home and I thought I might clear the calendar more for that.  Oh well. Not a.problem either way.  Hope everyone has a good day on the scale tomorrow.

Ombud, nice you're enjoying the dog park....and like Belle says I'm sure your dog is too.

Belle, yes, the days go by, not much to say. I feel that way too.

It's been especially hard these past few months because everything closed in our area around Thanksgiving and are still closed.

It's just everyday, nothing is open, nowhere to go, nothing to do. Except yard work, a walk, shopping now and then.

We can only hope things keep improving and maybe in a couple of months we are in a better place.

Hang in there.

Diana

Izena - I hope the yard work has helped the scale move back in the right direction.

Susan - They call it crepe murder here too. My first home had one, and I got busy and missed pruning season. I honestly couldn't tell a difference in the growth that year. After that I just trimmed it a little bit every year.

Ombud - It's been warm here the last several days too. I know Dakota is loving being back at the dog park.

Diana - I need to get out and weed our front flower beds. I let DH worry about the weed in the grass. We hit 80 yesterday so I think the plan is to get some pre-emergent spread this weekend.

Belle - I have had a hard time checking in regularly the last couple weeks. We haven't added anything (it's still school, AHG, cake), so it must just be mental on my part. On second thought, it may be the influx of emails from new brides. By the time I finish them, I'm ready to hand my laptop over to the kids to play games.

I just finished up a giant display cake. I wish real cakes went together as fast as the fake ones! I've got an open house at my favorite venue this weekend. Same one I did this summer, so I know what protocols they will have in place. I have another venue asking me to do one next weekend, but I have a cake delivery at the same time, so I'll just drop off display cakes, brochures, and packaged samples for that one.

Since we've thawed out, work has started again on the pool. The plumbers came back yesterday and started hand digging the rest of the path to the skimmers and water features. They also placed the pump and other equipment on the side of the house. The project manager stopped by this morning and said they should finish up today. We have rain in the forecast, so I'm not sure if the electrician will be able to make it this week or if he'll wait until next.

DH and I received calls yesterday from the county that they are finally up to our numbers and our info was being transferred to the hospital system for vaccine scheduling. We should be contacted sometime in the next week to make our appointments. I am less than 5 pounds away from being out of the obese BMI category and no longer qualifying, so we ordered pizza last night...and I dropped two pounds overnight. 😳 Who loses that much weight with pizza? He's working from home this morning, and when I stumbled out of the bedroom still half asleep, he (excitedly, not bossily) told me CVS has started scheduling appointment too and he got one for tomorrow and I needed to get online now and try to get mine scheduled too. So I log onto their website, and I was able to get one for tomorrow as well. I hate to say it, but I hope to not lose weight today. I know they won't get out a scale and weigh me, but the rule follower in me says I need to give up my spot if I no longer qualify.

Hope everyone has a good day and does well for tomorrow's weigh in!

Mel, glad you're doing well. Great you and hubby can get your vaccine appointments. I think you should go.

Glad the weather is warm and the pool work is continuing. Do you have a completion date?

Nice too you are so busy with your cake business. Nice to be popular!

Take care, Diana

No completion date yet. The PM said once the tile and stone guy are done, everything else is easier to schedule. However, we're about to get into storm season here, so I would expect a delay or two. I think they'll be done by the end of March if all goes well. That would be the low end of their estimated 90-120 days.

It funny... the more popular I am, the bigger the laundry pile gets! 😆

A year  ago today is when I came home from my 25 day cruises that went

into 29 and then 14 days at the air force base. Been a year of staying home!

I'm tired!  Hasn't really bother me to much until recently. We've haven't ever

been out of purple...nowhere to go or things to do and can't be with friends.

Can you tell I'm a little down today.   I'll get over it, there's people worse off then me.

Have to count my blessings.  Just had to vent a bit.

Susan...sorry about the cruises, I've had to cancel so many casino cruises.

I have July ones to that I wish they would cancel, because I am going have to  do it.

(selfish I know, don't want others to miss their cruises) but they changed all

the ports so booked a better one for Oct.

Mel---you sure busy with the cakes, kids and pool. Get the vaccine. It's offered.

Might have to wait a long time if you don't. The new strain of virus is bad they say.

Diana---hope your weather is still nice and your enjoying your yard after you

worked on it. Yes it's hard day by day we have to pray it will get better soon.

Everyone gets the vaccine and still wear their masks. Everyone has to do

the right thing. Is your husband still for Thursday for his shot?

Hope everyone having a nice day.

Belle, hard to believe what you were dealing with 1 years ago.

I'm down a bit too as this thing drags on. Was watching on a news program today, the medical expert, said we should expect more ups and downs of cases, surges, then drops.

Read CA has it's own variant that they say may lead to a surge in April or May. Ugh.

You're right we have to be thankful, we are healthy, etc. Others have it worse.

My hubby's appt. was rescheduled to this Sat.

Susan, hopefully you know about your cruises soon. So many unknowns still.

Take care everyone, Diana

Yes, we have our own variant.  Nothing about this surprises me any more.

The 1st 2 contractors who were supposed to show up and give estimates on my yard failed to show.

And a little girl came by selling GS Cookies. I'm such a suckered for them. But at least I only bought (ate) 1 box

Mel, its great that your cake business is doing so great! Do you have to make / redo cakes for each demo?

Kudos to Diana, Mel & DH for vaccine appointments

Susan, which remodeling projects are on the horizon?

Belle, is the Goodwill pile getting smaller? Mine seems to be growing again
