aimish Posted March 4, 2021 #1 Share Posted March 4, 2021 Planning a cruise for April 2022. Escape’s dates are slightly more convenient but I like Encore’s itinerary better. Encore is around $4k more. Is Encore worth it? I will have 2 teenagers with me, as well as a 10 year old. I know Encore was rated a top ship for teens, but I don’t know how Escape compares. TIA! cruisekitty22 Posted March 4, 2021 #2 Share Posted March 4, 2021 We loved the Escape. Lots of things for kids to do. Its our favorite ship so far. We are booked on the Encore for December 2021.
oteixeira Posted March 4, 2021 #3 Share Posted March 4, 2021 Ask your kids if they would rather have Laser Tag and go karts, or a ropes corse. That is the main difference. Encore would be the former, Escape the later. As an adult, I would totally suggest the Escape, but with teenagers, you might be finding yourself on the Encore. Two Wheels Only Posted March 4, 2021 #4 Share Posted March 4, 2021 Hull art aside, Encore is better but not $4K better.

I would add the Virtual Reality pavilion on the Encore for kids. The Observation lounge is a great place for adults on the Encore. As [older] cruisers, we prefer the Encore. The following are links to my live posts from both ships. gives you a peek.
Yorkvillain Posted March 4, 2021 #6 Share Posted March 4, 2021 I love both but I would take the Escape every time for Spice H20 and an easier time finding a pool chair.
versuco Posted March 4, 2021 #7 Share Posted March 4, 2021 Our last cruise was on the Escape, an extended family cruise with 5 kids ages 8 - 18. They all had a great time and loved the ship. They spent a lot of time on the ropes course. They also enjoyed the kids clubs. I wouldn't hesitate to sail with the grandkids again on the Escape. Rare PTC DAWG Posted March 4, 2021 #8 Share Posted March 4, 2021 Ropes course has no charge, correct? Laser Tag and Go Karts, not so much.
deweytrader Posted March 4, 2021 #9 Share Posted March 4, 2021 Escape is our favorite ship! Encore not worth 4k more!
