Some cruise lines are already talking about doing away with their buffets to reduce the chance of spreading infections. That is why I prefaced Post 2 with “if these events continue”. I certainly don’t see them being in the previous format for the early cruises once sailing resumes
ClaudiaB Posted March 21, 2021 #27 Share Posted March 21, 2021 We both wore a white short sleeve tee or button-down shirt, and I wore white linen crops and my husband wore stone colored slacks. We brought our plate up to the upper deck and could gaze down on the more crowded lower level close to the food. We were in Troll Fjord and we could practically touch it. It was interesting going slow because our daytime excursion had traveled the same territory in a fast fast rib boat. I loved it; Husband was kind of "meh" on the lines and the crowd. However, we had gotten there kind of early to just have a drink and take in the sights. So we got a prime upper deck spot. It was a bit of a walk up and down the stairs a few times for our meal, but worth it to be a part of the action but not right IN it. 1
Trend Posted March 22, 2021 #28 Share Posted March 22, 2021 We have been to several White Nights and I either wear a cream dress, white Tshirt or one time a white beach coverup over pants. It doesn’t matter it is a theme not a dictate. As for the food it is great and if you can’t line up they will bring a plate to you.It is a great night for making new friends. all very fun and Not Stuffy. Let your hair down and have some fun. Hope they keep this. Even had a New Years White night on board. 5
CMATraveller Posted October 2, 2021 #29 Share Posted October 2, 2021 My husband and I love the White Nights. The food is delicious and even though I can no longer dance I loved the festive atmosphere. In Corfu we were docked next to a large MSC ship, and their balconies were filled with people watching our party! I wear white denim capris, a white blouse and a lacy white cardigan. 3

mj_holiday Posted October 2, 2021 #31 Share Posted October 2, 2021 Our experience was pre-COVID, and most people had on white or something light colored. But those that didn't seemed to have just as much fun as those that did.
Rare uktog Posted October 2, 2021 #32 Share Posted October 2, 2021 Currently as there is no buffet they were calling it bright nights and asking people to wear white or bright so there was a real mixture of outfits (some even in darker clothing) The point made in all the literature was that what you wore was immaterial just to come and enjoy yourself. They do not want to use the name White Night as long as the event is not the same as they had pre covid to avoid unfair comparisons 4

Just as Azamazing Evening has a different name currently, it makes good sense to differentiate.

I believe Captain Johannes made this point to the CEO and she recognised the significance of what he was saying. That said a lot of people were still referring to it as White Nights. Here is a photo of the dance floor a lot of white but not exclusively so Edited October 2, 2021 by uktog

donaldsc Posted October 4, 2021 #36 Share Posted October 4, 2021 No need to buy anything. You can wear anything in any color and any style that you wish. The White Night bit is just a name and any color clothing is completely acceptable. DON 3

I am guessing that the OP is female so that means that she is totally allowed to wear bright red. LOL!! Some people think that the white night idea is really important. I think that it is silly. Don't worry about it. Another thing. On white night, everyone jams into the limited number of places to eat on the deck and it is a mad house. Much better to eat inside at one of the dining rooms where it is more comfortable. DON I’m with you Don. Eat indoors and avoid the crowding. BBQ + white clothes + crowding = a big mess lol!
Utopia1 Posted January 28, 2022 #44 Share Posted January 28, 2022 Azamara had an almost traditional white night on the Quest December 10 '21 cruise- On the 4 previous cruises they had " bright nights" that were different. The" white night" was on deck 9 around the pool (deck 10 had seating too)- it was well organized-- seating was socially distanced. When it was time to get our food we were called up by the color of the card on our table to avoid crowding. Food was served to us on the buffet. The negative was the line up to enter . Only the forward door on deck 9 was open-- and there was a long line to get in early--- but everyone was escorted to their table rather than the guests running to choose a table. We were requested to wear masks on the dance floor-- even though we were outdoors. It turned out to be a lovely, well organized evening. 4
