No sail order extended until November

Recommended Posts

The Framework for Conditional Sailing Order has been in place since October 30, 2020 and barring being extended or altered is to expire on November 1, 2021. That has not changed. The CDC recently "responded" to publicized comments from CLIA and other travel leaders by basically stating the current status.

It has not been extended.

It has not been changed.

Everything is still in place that has been in place since October 30, 2020, and the CDC has not provided anything since that they were supposed to provide to move forward with the steps they put in place in that Framework for Conditional Sailing Order on October 30, 2020.

not extended, but they haven't offered any "next steps" or modifications to the framework.

How long is the Framework for Conditional Sailing Order in effect?

The Order is effective upon signature and shall remain in effect until the earliest of

  1. the expiration of the Secretary of Health and Human Services’ declaration that COVID-19 constitutes a public health emergency;
  2. the CDC Director rescinds or modifies the order based on specific public health or other considerations; or
  3. November 1, 2021.

Royal Caribbean Announces Global Suspension Of Cruising

Last updated March 25th, 2021

At Royal Caribbean International, our guests and crew's safety and well-being are always our top priorities. In order to allow additional time for our return to service preparations, we have decided to extend the suspension of sailings for our global fleet through May 31st, 2021 – excluding sailings onboard Quantum, Spectrum, Voyager, and Odyssey of the Seas. Our plan is to resume further operation in June; however, the following circumstances have extended the suspension for the following ships and sailings:

Quantum of the Seas Alaska sailings departing April 5 to October 14, 2021: In order to allow additional time for our preparation, Quantum of the Seas will remain in the Asia-Pacific region.

Odyssey of the Seas May 9 to October 28, 2021 sailings departing from Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy. Instead, Odyssey will begin her inaugural season out of a new homeport, Haifa, Israel from June to October 2021. These new sailings are available for residents of Israel only.

Adventure of the Seas June 5 to October 14, 2021: Instead of offering sailings from Barcelona, Spain, Adventure of the Seas will now offer sailings from Nassau, Bahamas beginning June 2021.

Vision of the Seas June 6 to August 29, 2021: Instead of offering sailings from San Juan, Puerto Rico, Vision of the Seas will now offer sailings from Bermuda beginning June 2021.

Jewel of the Seas June 7 to October 31, 2021: Instead of offering sailings from Northern Europe; Barcelona, Spain; and Boston, Massachusetts, Jewel of the Seas will now offer sailings from Limassol, Cyprus beginning June 2021.

A very interesting thread ! So makes one wonder why it hasn't been plastered on the handful of youtube blogs that daily follow sailings from the US  and other countries or islands.

To resume cruising from the US, the CDC will have to be in the full Phase four implementation from what things still appear to be.

True, that not a thing has changed with the CDC's decision, (up to this date of March 26, 2021) knowing that the there are four Phases to go through. From latest events which is still clear as mud, either the CDC is saying that either they're currently in Phase 1 or has not approached Phase 1.            Should the conclusion be that there's still a long way to go to reach Phase four, then the No Sail order from US ports seems a lot more realistic to be holding out to the end of November.

Anyone able to clarify the current Phase question?  Or other comments are welcomed !

Not sure it makes much diff as the original plan will likely be modified or the CSO will simply be let to expire. Technically the cruise lines are waiting for technical instructions for phase 2.

We just saw the same thing on TV that there will be no cruises out of US Ports until at least November of 2021.

You may want to find a better news source. 🙂

Or if no further instructions it will remain to run through the end of November 21 without changing or modifications? Ah, so you're saying the CDC has the cruise lines presently in Phase 1, correct?

Unbelievable! Profit and personal luxury are so much more important than stopping a pandemic . . . not.

No better than spoiled children. Can't even wait a few more months to insure the safety of everyone. Have to have their cruise fix NOW!

Funny, I haven't seen you jump on the ones that think it unfair that their return to cruising might be delayed if their unvaccinated kids can't go as soon as cruising resumes.

I have indicate disfavor of several posts decrying the requiring of vaccinations as unfair. It's true I haven't comment specifically on posts involving children. Seems to be a moot point now.

I just thought that if you were going to call out selfish groups that you might want to cover all the bases.🙂 Certainly, one poster around here is in an uproar over it.

Do you not understand that some people are so close to Pinnacle that they can taste the denial of access to the SL and that with every cancelled 2021 cruise they lose out on double points and thus lengthening said step progression?!?!?!? Have a little empathy please.

Well, this info does not prove anything yet as the time has to pass and then we will see the real story behind it. Moreover, we need to concentrate of the cruises that are about to sail and not pay attention to some news which have not yet been proven
