massfamilyof4 Posted April 9, 2021 #1 Share Posted April 9, 2021 Hi all, We are going to book a cruise for 2022. Which RCCL ship do you think has the best pool deck and why?

Rare crewsweeper Posted April 9, 2021 #3 Share Posted April 9, 2021 I think any of the Quantum Class ships, like Anthem of the Seas have better number of pools. But again it depends on what you are looking for in a pool.
cruiseguy1016 Posted April 9, 2021 #4 Share Posted April 9, 2021 We need more info about what you think is a good pool deck. Lots of pools? Water park for the kids? Availability of drinks and food? Music? Peace and quiet? "The best" deck can mean so many different things to different people.
erinsmom03 Posted April 9, 2021 #5 Share Posted April 9, 2021 Agree with above... are you looking for the best adults only pool deck? Or family pool deck? What do you look for in a pool deck?

I think it was partly due to being his first cruise but also, because of the "stretch", the wide open expanse for walking around. Of course, if we had cruised when they were kids, instead of doing the Annual Disney passes, his opinion might have been different.
voyager70 Posted April 9, 2021 #8 Share Posted April 9, 2021 I personally like the pool decks on Voyager and Freedom Class the best overall. Quantum Class is best for cooler climates with two indoor venues. Not a big fan of Oasis Class pool decks.
SECdawg Posted April 9, 2021 #9 Share Posted April 9, 2021 Enchantment is my favorite. Great for sail away parties!
DaniDanielle Posted April 9, 2021 #10 Share Posted April 9, 2021 I think Anthem has a great pool area. Nicely spaced and good for cold or warm weather
MacMarauder Posted April 9, 2021 #11 Share Posted April 9, 2021 If you have younger kids I would say Oasis class for sure. There are four main pools and one of them is a water park for kids. Also all the Oasis class ships have water slides except Allure. Although I didn't get to go on the adult water slides on Oasis myself because I was looking after my young kids lol. Rare island lady Posted April 9, 2021 #12 Share Posted April 9, 2021 Another vote for Enchantment. We fondly call it "the Enstretchment". When they cut the ship in half, adding more cabins in the middle, it also extended the pool deck. Huge pool deck on that little ship...and great large bar along the side.

The extra 75 feet makes a difference on that class ship. The remaining ships of the class should be considered for that upgrade.

That was the joke I was making, that the ship was cut in half, installed more cabins, which gave the pool deck a "stretch" and is why we fondly called her "The Enstretchment". 😉 Sailed on her many times, and is still one of our favorites. See my post #12. The effort did not pan out money wise for RCI however, so they did not elect to do that again on any other ship. M&A Posted April 10, 2021 #23 Share Posted April 10, 2021 A little off topic but we prefer to be on the promenade deck in the shade. Quietest area of the ship, close to the ocean and no crowds away from the blaring music and games etc I really can't see what the attraction is sitting wedged in row by row. I have a pool in Florida and don't need to be in a crowded pool on a ship. It's funny to see people racing to the pool deck in the morning and putting their towels down. Your answer is ... many people don't have a pool in Florida. 2

The nearest we get to a pool when not on vacation is the duck pond at the local park 😁 Edited April 10, 2021 by CaroleC
