Carlisle Beach Celebrity excursion

Has anyone done this excursion? The info said it is at a resort there, and a free drink was included. Can you buy drinks at the resort? Which resort do they use?

I believe they used to use Pirate's Cove beach club, but that may have changed as cruising starts to spin up again.  If they allow independent excursions there are several other beach clubs lined up along the bay - Boatyard, Lobster Alive, Harbor Lights, etc.  All will be happy to take your $$ for drinks.

Have done this through Celebrity and independently (catch a bus). They specifically say Harbor Lights on our shorex list for this coming June. Harbor Lights is a very casual beach club that has a building with changing rooms, toilets, showers, a music stage (at night it's a disco), kitchen, and bar. After you show your tix, you go through to an outdoor bar and large eating area, toilets and outdoor showers.  Then you follow a path to the beach, where about 60 loungers and red umbrellas are set up to accomodate cruise ship guests. Another 60 or so with blue umbrellas are for walk-ins. Servers walk among the loungers to take orders and bring food/drink. Prices are fine and the food is decent. Be sure to tip up front and they will visit you often!

 

The beach is gorgeous--Carlisle Bay is a really long, white sand and turquoise water beach. As John notes, a lot of beach clubs are there--some offering water slides, jet skis, etc. You can walk down the beach and hire those if you like. You'll also see a bunch of snorkel catamarans and boats a little ways out; they are there for the turtles. If you bring your own snorkel gear, you can go out and see the critters too. (Or you can pay the club to take you--$20 or so.) The submerged wreck is a bit further to the left. Try to do any of that early in the day because the current changes later in the day and it can be very hard to try to swim back in on your own! Speaking from experience...
