Rare rafinmd Posted April 16, 2021 #3 Share Posted April 16, 2021 Thank you for the TGIF daily, Rich. I could probably have been called a bean counter in my working life. I'll take my eggs without the Benedict or Mushrooms. Interesting quote. Been to lots of UK ports but never the home of the Beatles. I'll also take my chicken without the olives. dfish Posted April 16, 2021 #4 Share Posted April 16, 2021 Good morning, everyone. I'm heading out to the pool very shortly, so I'll get right to the point. Today's meal has mostly good comments. One commenter mentioned that it was too salty. I guess that could be the case given all the olives pictured. I'd probably use some black olives as well. And chicken breasts. @Cruising-along this is one for us because of the low carbs. https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/skillet-chicken-with-olives/ 1 serving (calculated without capers): 237 calories, 15g fat (3g saturated fat), 76mg cholesterol, 571mg sodium, 2g carbohydrate (0 sugars, 0 fiber), 21g protein. Rare puppycanducruise Posted April 16, 2021 #5 Share Posted April 16, 2021 (edited) Good morning. Thanks for the Daily Report. Another wet day here. April showers bring May flowers, so we have that to look forward to.🙂 Interesting collection of days. I'm still a bit of a bean counter keeping our budget in order. I love eggs benedict but rarely make it at home. Hubby loves mushrooms. The dinner suggestion sounds good - thanks for the recipe @dfish, I think we'll try that soon. The drink sounds like a sweet summer treat, and I'm sure I'd like the wine. Sending prayers for all on the care list. Cheers to all who celebrate. Stay safe. Rare kazu Posted April 16, 2021 #7 Share Posted April 16, 2021 Thanks for the Daily, Rich and our morning smile 🙂 I love mushrooms and Eggs Benedict so I’ll happily celebrate them! I’ll definitely be doing some bean counting with my appointment today. Love the quote by Seneca. We just had chicken and still have some leftover so that may be on the menu tonight but I’m definitely keeping today’s meal suggestion in mind. Looks delish! I had a lot of nervous energy yesterday so put it to use and decided it was time to empty my planter shed so I can start to plan. I had a 3 supervisors - supervisor #1: and of course supervisors #2 & 3: @ger_77when I saw this, I thought of Sochi mucking up your keyboard. I’m sure other cat lovers can associate with it, too 😉 We’ve been to a few places in the United Kingdom but not yet to Liverpool. It’s in our plans for next year. DH is very excited as it’s the home of his favourite soccer team! Guess what he wants to see when we are there? LOL It’s D Day for me here so I best get moving. Prayers for everyone on Roy’s Care list & for those that need them and 🥂 to everyone on the Celebratory / Shout Out list. Have a great TGIF everyone! Stay safe and please don’t forget your masks 😷
Rare Crazy For Cats Posted April 16, 2021 #8 Share Posted April 16, 2021 Good Morning All, thanks for the daily report. The morning after jab one and my arm is a little sore, no other issues. Today is a dreary day. Rain at the moment with a chance of snow at lunchtime. Glad I resisted DH’s plea to new plants for the garden. @dfishthe meal looks good. 28
St. Louis Sal Posted April 16, 2021 #9 Share Posted April 16, 2021 Good morning all! We were having a lovely sunrise when the clouds moved in and now it looks quite dreary. Not a fan of today’s suggestions. Don’t eat eggs Benedict, mushrooms are okay, olives not so much, so the chicken dish I’d skip,, and sparkling wine isn’t high on my list either. Now @rafinmdyour menu would be perfect and even better on a HAL ship. I have been to the UK 8 or 10 times, but never on a ship and never to Liverpool. Packing up to head to Branson for a week. Hoping 🤞that all our remodeling is finally finished. May and June will be busy with my drug trial so I will probably have to stay home for awhile. Best thing today-I am going out to lunch with a friend! Haven’t done that in soooo long. Take care all. Prayers for those on our care list and I’ll toast the celebrations (maybe with some wine at lunch 😉) and a special thank you for this Daily and all of you that I’ve gotten to know here. summer slope Posted April 16, 2021 #10 Share Posted April 16, 2021 Good morning. Love Mushrooms. And Eggs Benedict is my breakfast choice on the BHB. Bean counters are working overtime nowadays. Great quote and so true. Love the meal suggestion minus the olives. Never been to the UK so look forward to the photos. Thank you Rich and Roy. Prayers and toasts to all of us!!!!! cat shepard Posted April 16, 2021 #11 Share Posted April 16, 2021 (edited) Thank you for today’s Daily, Rich! Love today’s combo of days. Roy, thank you for taking care of our lists. Morning Dailyites & my Sisters. Thinking of you Jacqui! Very profound quote. Debbie, I might try the recipe with Kalamata olives. Might need some tweaking because they can be overpowering at times. That drink sounds like dessert, but very refreshing. Our unsettled weather may have arrived. Rain predicted, though it has not started yet. Mani-pedi day for me. Prayers for all who need our support. Cheers to all who are celebrating! Stay well everyone! ******** This non-vintage rosé has excellent ratings. The reviews are a bit all over the place in everything but the rating and stating the color is different. It is over my budget, but I might enjoy tasting it. The cheapest price I found online from a regular distributor was $54.99. Winemaker Notes Blended from Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes, this is a succulently fruity, supple and aromatic Champagne with fine bubbles and a crisp, refreshing finish. It is intense cherry-pink in color with extremely fine, persistent pinpoint bubbles rising in delicate strands to the surface of the wine. Its classic, aromatic Pinot fragrance of red raspberries and strawberries is offset by elegant, subtle floral and earth nuances. On the palate, the ripe, full berry flavors are vibrant yet refined, delicately balanced by a fresh acidity which carries into a crisp, refreshing finish of persistent length. TP94 Wine.com Tasting Panel: The addition of 15% still Pinot Noir give this one its pale salmon pink color; the blend is Chardonnay-dominated for bright and racy flavors; tangy fresh and juicy; long and elegant. WS91 Wine Spectator: This mouthwatering rosé shows lovely harmony and a fine, chalky texture, with appealing flavors of raspberry preserves, toast and candied kumquat. Offers an elegant, smoke-tinged finish. JS91 James Suckling: Darker color. Lots of fruit and a creamy texture with cooked apples and cherries and strawberry undertones. Medium to full body. Delicious finish that is dry and fruity. Drink now. Edited April 16, 2021 by cat shepard

mamaofami Posted April 16, 2021 #14 Share Posted April 16, 2021 Good morning everyone. The sun is shining and it looks like it’s going to be a really nice day today. I love mushrooms but never liked eggs Benedict. Today’s meal looks interesting. Love chicken and love olives so it’s a nice combo. I am the bean counter in our family. I keep our budget, pay all the bills, and keep us on track. DH does so many of the things Incan no longer do so we make a good team. Stay safe everyone. cunnorl Posted April 16, 2021 #15 Share Posted April 16, 2021 Good Morning Everyone from a warm and cloudy day at the beach. Interesting quote. Been to England but not Liverpool. This weekend will be interesting here. The big Air show will be taking place. Although I do enjoy air shows, not sure I agree it should be held now. So we have gathered all supplies and will stay put. Not going to venture out. Just tooo many people. We can watch safely from our patio. Just look up! Off to water aerobics this am, then home. Stay safe and enjoy today

smitty34877 Posted April 16, 2021 #17 Share Posted April 16, 2021 Good morning to all. I am very fond of mushrooms and Eggs Benedict. I am the family bean counter here. It is finally a sunny day and Fred the feisty cockapoo and I will be able to take a decent walk. It has been quite rainy here. We traveled to Liverpool on a British Isles cruise and really enjoyed the port. I pre purchased Beatle Museum tickets online and we got there before the crowds. We also took the HOHO bus when rain started and we were able to see a great deal of the city. I took this picture of a church on a hill that was bombed during the War. It was left as is and I found it very moving. Terry
Cruzin Terri Posted April 16, 2021 #18 Share Posted April 16, 2021 Good morning from the Bean Counter in Chief in this home. I pay all the bills, keep the budget and make sure we’re solvent at all times. So far we are not homeless, so I guess I’m doing a good job. Love mushrooms and while I like Eggs Benedict, they are a bit too rich for me. So I hardly have them anymore. The orange creamsicle mimosa sounds like it is right up my alley. I have a busy day with a number of things happening around here. Plumber coming to change out the bathroom faucets in the master bath, zooming with a friend who is disabled, and need to shop for DH’s birthday dinner on Sunday. Prayers for all who need them and shoutouts to all celebrating. Will try to check in later if I have time. Have a good day and God Bless. ger_77 Posted April 16, 2021 #19 Share Posted April 16, 2021 Good morning, thanks for the Daily! I like mushrooms; I admire all bean counters because I detest accounting, and I can take or leave Eggs Benedict. On a Dam ship I prefer simple soft poached eggs on toast. I've never understood the whole English muffin thing - they always seem tough to me. LOL I mentioned that I'm not into accounting, yet I'm the person in our family who takes care of our finances, go figure. The quote of the day reminds me of a Roger Whittaker song that starts with the line: When they begin the overture, they start to end the show. I miss hearing his voice; I'll have to dig out some old CD's of his or look at You Tube videos. @kazu your pic really made me smile - and yes, Sochi did mess up my computer screen by walking across the keyboard - argh. Everything was compressed to the centre of the screen and barely readable. Thankfully I have lots of friends who are much more tech-savvy than me who could guide me through the correction process. One of the suggestions though, was to have her walk backward over the keys in the hope it would reverse the issue. LOL @richwmn you lost me at olives for today's menu suggestion. I know I'm in the minority here, but whenever there's an olive in a dish, the flavour seems to permeate throughout the entire dish. I'll take @rafinmd's suggestion any time, though! Today is Friday and for us that's pizza night, so we'll order a couple of small pizzas and sit out on our deck enjoying the warmth and sunshine (with the windows still closed, cause it's not that warm yet!). And wine. BTW, both DH and I have been enjoying a late afternoon Aperol Spritz - in fact, yesterday we went out and replenished our supplies to make more. Prayers for everyone who needs them and even for those who don't think they do. Extra prayers today for @kazu at her dental appointment - I know you're concerned about this one, and for @rafinmdas well. Raising the glasses tonight (maybe both the Aperol Spritz and wine) to toast all on the celebration list. Stay well, be safe, wash your hands, wear your mask(s), and get your jabs! Smooth Sailing! 🙂🙂🙂 Gerry
Overhead Fred Posted April 16, 2021 #20 Share Posted April 16, 2021 We do like Eggs Benedict. One of the downside of moving out of our St. Paul condo is that we can no longer walk 1/2 block to get some really good ones at The New Louisiana Café on the corner of Selby and Dale. They have at least seven different types of Bennies! Well, we can still drive over and get some now that we are fully vaccinated... Speaking of vaccines, I leave soon on a road trip to Cloquet, MN to take our son for his second shot. Which means more Tobies cinnamon rolls!

Happily@Sea Posted April 16, 2021 #24 Share Posted April 16, 2021 (edited) Routine visit with doctor yesterday, I updated some test and I got signed up for my shot at his office. I just have to wait for a call. So, even though I can't afford cruising [right now] and I don't see anyone else, I'm on the shot list and I know where I will be having it. I just don't know the vaccine company or when, but I am signed up. Doctors are persistent, aren't they. 🙂 Edited April 16, 2021 by Happily@Sea
StLouisCruisers Posted April 16, 2021 #25 Share Posted April 16, 2021 (edited) A late good morning wish from me today. I was outside early on cutting some of the brush at the bottom of the slope behind our house. The golf course maintenance people and the HOA won't lift a finger to keep it all cleared so we can still view the golf course. Those loppers I used take a lot of arm strength so I'm feeling it already in my forearms. While I was doing that DH was using a grass trimmer (weedeater) at the top 10' of the slope to maintain some view as well. When the slope gets to be too much we hire a local landscaper to do the heavy work. I hope @kazu's dental procedure goes well today with little pain. Good luck! I don't have much time since we need to run to the grocery in a while so I'd better hunt up some photos of Liverpool. We were there twice, once with friends on the Royal Princess in 2015 and the second time on Prinsendam in 2017. The first time I took a Beatles tour with my friends who only use ship's tours. That was quite fun since I was a big Beatles fan back in the 60's. Then after the tour DH met me at the dock and lovely cruising friends from a 2014 cruise who live in Manchester came to Liverpool to meet up with us. We went to a pub for a drink and some lunch, plus a nice walkabout to chat. That was wonderful! Outside the Beatles museum. Then we went to the Cavern Club where the early Beatles played. Someone was there playing music and singing. You could order a pint if you wished. A statue in the alley outside the Club. We also went to Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields. Then time for lunch with our Manchester friends. We went to see a statue of Queen Victoria and I got bombed by a pigeon. A little cleanup was required. Some of the interesting sights near the ship dock. Photo taken from the Royal Princess Our friends stayed to watch us depart. They are on the bench in this photo. They gave us a great send off, and we gave them the Love Boat toots from the Royal Princess. We very much enjoyed both our visits to Liverpool. On the second visit on the Prinsendam, we had our next door cabin neighbor arrested and removed from the ship for stealing scratch off cards from the Casino. We were actually in that white tent area using wi-fi when he was escorted off. I highly recommend Liverpool as a cruise stop if you get the opportunity to book it.
