Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh's Funeral

Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh's funeral - what a moving service - British pomp and ceremony at its best.  The music was glorious. 

 

Did anyone else stay up to watch or go to bed, then get up to watch, like I did?

 

I have been to a church service in the Church and sat in the same pews as Members of the Royal Family sat for the funeral.

My favourite trip overseas includes a visit to London and Windsor, together with a cruise.  I miss both!

IMHO at its most subdued, but well done nonetheless.

I fell asleep watching The Desolation of Smaug. Woke up early and watched bits on various channels.

Agree it was subdued and well done.  Everything had a story/meaning, like the sugar cubes container for the Prince's carriage riding horses, on the empty carriage.  I could never had stayed awake unless I had a sleep first.

Sad but magnificent. The British Forces put on a memorable display.

Happy Birthday, Queen Elizabeth - 95 today.  It will be a sad day for her without Prince Philip, but her family will rally around her.

Even the Ginger Ninja? I doubt that his wife will call her MIL either 🙂

 

Hope the Queen enjoys her day - she seems like a good person.

We watched some of Prince Phillips funeral that night it was live on TV and watch the rest of it the next morning/afternoon.

It was a nice funeral.
