If not CCL, what cruise line would you go on and where would you go?

RCL, in 2022. Double C&A points..

Done 22 cruises with Carnival, 7 days short of Diamond. Will go to 25th Cruise to take advantage of Milestone.

Diamond here in Australia is just nearly over 70's of age. Being under 50, not My cup of tea.

Love the look of RCL Diamond (75 days). 4 free drinks every day... Save $$.

My earliest cruise booking is with RCI in November, and I'm not getting my hopes up too high about that yet. Aside from Carnival I also cruise with them, NCL, MSC and Celebrity. Any of them would be preferable to another year of no cruising.

Just FYI, I believe all RCL ships now have a dedicated Diamond Lounge for Diamond (and above) cruisers. In the lounge there is a 3-ish hour cocktail party each night with unlimited drinks. The 4 daily vouchers loaded onto your card are good for other bars in case you don't want to go to the lounge.

We have 4 Holland America cruises booked - Dec. 2021 (11 days), Feb. 2022 (7 days) - all paid for with future cruise credits, then April 2022 and Jan. 2023, both 7days.

We have a Carnival Pride cruise booked for Jan. 2022 with future cruise credits and $800 in OBC, plus two back-to-back Carnival cruises on the Pride for Nov.-Dec. 2022 booked with the free balcony offer and $200 OBC and free drinks in the casino on each.

7 cruises booked on two cruise lines - let's get started already! We are fully vaccinated since Jan. 2021 and raring to start cruising again!

Unless rcl gets rid of diamond lounge, its 3 drinks a day added to your card.

Saying its 75 days is misleading. For instance its 1 pt more for solo and 1 pt more for JS and up. I'm solo so regular 7 day cruise is 14 loyalty pts for me, 7 days.

Yes there has been talk because Singapore isnt doing diamond lounge and added 4 anytime drinks, but it's not on the perk list. 3 free a day now. Plus maybe diamond lounge.

If I can't cruise on Carnival:  I would cruise Celebrity out of Sint. Maarten  OR RCCL out of Bermuda.

Karen

PS: Either way, I would stay on the island for a week or so after the cruise!!

I almost always put itinerary first, cabin second and cruise line third. All major cruise lines give you a similar basic product and from that they build to their brand and the demographic they want, If I just want a fun getaway for a week then Carnival is my first choice.

Take care,

Mike

That's an interesting perspective.  I don't usually think about it that way, but I guess i really do because I always place itinerary first, value second (value includes things like price of course, but also Carnival casino offers, loyalty perks and low-cost airfare), cabin, then cruise line.

If my Sept. Cruise gets cancelled I’m going to take the refund and book a cruise on NCL for 2023. It will be my first cruise with another brand.

If the Bliss will still be on the west coast in 2023, you'll have a blast.

If Carnival doesn't mandate vaccinations, I will cancel my November sailing on the Freedom.  I have 2 weeks in December on Celebrity Apex and Reflection, so no big deal to miss a Carnival cruise.

Ok I get it. There was a offer on the table to not cancel cruises and get another $200 obc, but I think the end date was maybe June cruises not for sept that far out.

I'll keep watching.

I got the offer for my July cruise but not for the September one. We're looking RCL this summer to replace our July on Carnival.

I want to try one of those studio cabins so bad with a week pass to the Vibe Beach Club.

The studio cabins are really nice.  One good thing is the shower and commode are in separate areas.  Vibe passes are very hard to come by.

How do I get the week pass for the Vibe beach club - I mean how do I increase my chances? Any inside tip?

Pretend you're Usain Bolt and run like the wind. There was a good thread about this over on their board. You have to board really early in one of the priority groups and know exactly where the Vibe sales desk is. It literally is a race.

Book a B2B so that you can get a pass on the second leg.  If it was indeed Hunger Games, you could have your bow & a quiver full of arrows to take out your competition. 🤣

I'd like to pick a cruise line

where my 56 nites on board Carnival ships
(plus two cruises on Ocean Village -and one on Princess

- both lines belong to Carnival Corp.)  might hold some sway somewhere!

Wish me luck.

I've got an Oceania cruise early next year, so that's an easy answer. And since things aren't looking good for my 3 weeks in Australia on Carnival, I've been looking at Oceania, Crystal, NCL, and Royal for a closer to home (and much shorter) replacement cruise later next year. Really boils down to which departure date will let me maximize my vacation time since I'm coming out of retirement and headed back to work this year.

So right now I have booked CCL Vista in August out of Galveston, Mardi Gras in January 2022,  B2B cruises to Europe on Pride in July/August, and an Alaska cruise in June 2023.  My husband is scared of numbers going up in Greece and them changing the entrance requirements so he wants to wait to book anything and he doesn't want to do the Galapagos because they go out of Ecuador as he says if for some reason we got stuck there due to a positive Covid test or something, he doesn't want to be stuck in Ecuador.  So still waiting to see on the rest of the summer.  I really, really, really hope that the Vista goes in August!  We were able to book the same Vista balcony cabin on deck 7 that we had the first time we cruised on Vista back in 2018. I was a blast!!!  This will be my third time on the Vista (we live in Houston so hitting up the Galveston ships is easy) so it would be a great way to re-enter the cruising world again!
