jennraycruise Posted May 3, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 3, 2004 Hi Cruisers. We will be in Tampa for 2 days pre cruise and 1 day post cruise and we will be looking for something fun and economical to do in Tampa. We dont want to spend all our vacation fund pre cruise. Does any one have any fun suggestions or know of any good beaches. Also if anyone else is gonna be in Tampa and wants to party pre cruise with us. Lets have a cruise critic get together. Thanks in advance for the input.... Jen and Ray's First Cruise together. florida diver Posted May 3, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 3, 2004 If you have a car you can go to Clearwater Beach. Every evening they have a "celebrate the sunset" party similair to Key West. The Florida aquarium is next to the cruise terminal and I think about $12 a person. Of course there is always Busch Gardens which is a great animal/roller coaster park BUT it is about $55 a person!!. Good Luck and great cruise!!
fascination 5/10 Posted May 3, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 3, 2004 I second the suggestion for Clearwater Beach...sugar white sand and never too crowded. My favorite beach in the world! floridabeachbum Posted May 4, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 4, 2004 You definitely must go to Clearwater Beach.Eat at Frenchy's and stay to watch the sunset. Also, check out YBor city at night. The aquarium is nice and right next to the port . If you like shopping there are two great malls, International Plaza and Westshore Plaza right in Tampa. Even if you don't like to shop you should still check out International Plaza. They have an outside area called Baystreet that has great restuarants and bars. katie286 Posted May 4, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 4, 2004 We're staying in Clearwater Beach for three days prior to our cruise in July. There is sooo much to do there, or nothing at all! You can stay at the beach all day! The sunsets are georgous! bjkeen Posted May 4, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 4, 2004 Jen, To bad you aren't in Tampa tomorrow, we are having a get together at Bahama Breeze on Rocky Point. I agree with the Clearwater suggestion. It is a cheap fun way to spend the day. Bring sun screen, sun glasses and plenty of fluids.
