ralmyers Posted May 3, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 3, 2004 I am having so many problems with my agency not responding to me. I have made final payment, and I am afraid that I will be stuck with them for the next two weeks. They have been totally incompetent and I am in anticipation of having to "hunt down" my documents. I hate to slam someone, but the truth is the truth. They saved me 200.00 over Carnival PVP, but I think next time the 200.00 will be WELL worth my headaches. I never have problems when booking direct from Carnival. I am trying not to think too negatively, and focus on the great vacation ahead. It is difficult though, when I worry about what may or may not have been completed correctly. Tybug Posted May 3, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 3, 2004 That would really be a difficult feat at this stage of the game. Final payment has been paid and commissions have been distributed. To change your agency, you'd have to get them to agree to release the booking to another agency. With them having already completed all the work(and documents more than likely have been shipped to them) I'm quite certain they would not be willing to do so. With 19 days until your sailing, I think I would just chalk this one up to experience and hope for the best with the docs. --Tybug-- 10-01 Imagination 02-02 Sovereign of the Seas 10-02 Inspiration 01-03 Majesty of the Seas 04-03 Inspiration 10-03 NCL Dawn 02-04 Rhapsody of the Seas 05-04 Majesty of the Seas 10-04 Mariner of the Seas 01-05 Voyager of the Seas
oldvato Posted May 3, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 3, 2004 You should be able to contact Carvival directly. They should have all your info. Have your booking number handy. You may have to leave a number and get a call back. Before I booked my cruise through Travelocity, I got a call from Carnival. They said it was O.K. to book through Travelocity(they had a slightly better deal), and that I could call Carnival anytime. They are not on commission. 1-800-819-3902

DiveCruiser Posted May 3, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 3, 2004 Ok 19 days till you sail. At worst like us you pick your air tickets @ the airport and the documents @ the pier. YOU ARE STILL GOING Many times the documnets for our groups do't come till a week before sailing. Want to change places, You go to work and I'll wait for the Documents and sail (I'll take the burden) Don't get up set cause your TA is a jerk! Now get packin. Some times you just need to look at things differently. If this is all that goes wrong your cruise should be GREAT Bob When you go in the water Take only Pictures and Leave only Bubbles Ecstacy 2000 Paradise 2001 Paradise 2002 Glory 2003 9/18/04 Western Caribbean 10/23/2004 Triumph Sailing Singles
ralmyers Posted May 3, 2004 Author #6 Share Posted May 3, 2004 Well unfortunately, it is not the docs that I am so upset about. I figure those will come in the next week or so. It is more the lack of responses and helpfulness that I expected from the Online TA. I WON'T be using them again, as another poster said -- I will be chalking this one up to experience. I best part, I am STILL going on a cruise not matter which way I look at it :-) Triumph <IMG SRC="http://escati.linkopp.net/cgi-bin/countdown.cgi?trgb=000000&srgb=00ff00&prgb=800080&cdt=2004;5;22;16;00;00 &timezone=GMT-0500"> Fantasy - 94 Imagination - 95 Ecstasy - 99 Triumph -
hdawson Posted May 3, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 3, 2004 Have you phoned your travel agent and talked to him/her??? I ususally get my docs 3 to 5 wks before sailing date since I book myown air. Most TA's do discount from their commisions making them cheaper than booking direct.
MACDADDY Posted May 3, 2004 #8 Share Posted May 3, 2004 What kind of help do you need from your online TA that all the online TA'S here can't answer.LOL! Seriously though the only thing you should be contacting your TA for now is maybe shipboard credit, but then again you should not worry about that if you were happy in the first place with what you paid for your cruise would only be an added bonus 7/18/2004 Carnival Legend Carnival Imagination2003 Carnival Imagination2002 Nordic Empress 2001 Carnival Paradise 1999 Carnival Fantasy 1997
