Copenhagen Hotel Options?

We stayed at The Admiral in 2018 and we loved it! Their updated rooms do have A/C, you just have to ask for a room with A/C. We are glad we did, as it was 95 degrees the 3 days pre-cruise we stayed there. The Admiral was beautiful, on the water, within walking distance to Nyhavn and the Little Mermaid, had a hoho nearby and a wonderful breakfast (extra charge). We plan to stay there again in 2023.

Thanks so much!

So am I right in thinking that the hotel, 71 Nyhavn, was not implicated in late night noise?  This is one I'm considering for next July.  We want somewhere that's pretty, generally easy to get to, and easy strolling distance to some restaurants and pubs (can't do a lot of walking).  And it must have an elevator.  I understand most hotels don't have AC--could this be a problem in July?  (I note that Copenhagen is currently 22C, which is obviously fine.)

Nyhavn 71 is located right next to the harbor and at the ‘quieter end’ of Nyhavn, but still close to Skuespilhuset (theater) and outdoor restaurant.
Admiral hotel could also be an option - quieter neighborhood next to Amalienborg (royal palace). A/C is not common in Denmark and often not necessary. I think all hotel have elevators.

What time of year were you there?

I would highly recommend the Hotel Bethel, located in the Nyhavn area.  The price is very good, the location can't be beat.  Breakfast is included and is very good.  The staff here are wonderful.  I have stayed here three times, and would not stay anywhere else.

Another hotel to consider is ‘Hotel The Socialist’ - a design boutique hotel housed in a former transformer station with 31 rooms and suites. Centrally located close to ‘Kongens Nytorv’ and ‘Strøget’

If I was looking at airbnb, where would be a good place to look.  I had a place for last june/20 but can't seem to find the same one for next June/22.  There are 4 of us, and 2  can't walk great distances.   We will take a cab from airport.  Thanks

I think its too early for 2022 - not many available yet due to the pandemic.

If you want something located in City look for the range of Zip codes from 1000 to 1799 - might be very limited availability. Alternative look close to a Metro station  - it is easy to use the metro.

'Kongens Nytorv' and 'Rådhuspladsen' are both in City.470785180_Metrokort.thumb.png.328bcbab1485112453dbadfd672a0695.png

Just note that metro station 'Orient Kaj' is not close to the Cruise port 'Ocean Kaj' - You'll also need a taxi to the cruise terminal.

Thanks for all the great information. Just starting our research for August 2022 cruise.

How far is Hotel Bethel from the airport and cruise terminal?

Royal Caribbean uses which cruise terminal?...google shows 3 cruise terminals in Copenhagen. Thank you.

About 20 minutes - both from airport and cruise port by taxi.
Cruise terminal is Ocean Kaj.

Closest metro station is ‘Kongens Nytorv’ - see map in post #34

Thank you!

We'll plan on taking the metro from the airport to Kongens Nytorv then walk to Hotel Bethel.

Can we take the metro to Ocean Kaj? What is the nearest metro station/stop to Ocean Kaj?

(We will be pulling one rolling luggage each...is walking to Ocean Kaj advisable?)  Thanks again.

We were there in 2017 and stayed at the Wakeup Copenhagen, Borgergade.  Very inexpensive, maybe a block from the metro, and walking distance to several of the tourist sites.
Room was small for a US hotel standard, but no worse than cruise ship. Entire place was immaculate.

Last  metro station is Orientkaj - from there 2.3 km to Ocean Kaj -  possible to walk - alternative is bus - bus schedule not yet known.

My wife and I stayed at the following hotel after a TA cruise in 2018:

Ibsens Hotel, Vendersgade 23, 1363 København K - tel. +45 3313 1913

We are seniors and this hotel was within walking distance of Tivoli Gardens.

FYI.  We were told that locals go to Tivoli Gardens for dinner and that if we return to Copenhagen, we should go there.

There was a decent restaurant next to hotel.

We took a cab from the cruise ship to the hotel.

We would go to the hotel again.

We stayed at 71 Nyhavn Hotel and loved it in June. One night we could hear some noise but, didn't disturb us.  When they found out it was our anniversary, they upgraded our room and had a bucket of sparkling wine chilled waiting for us! The breakfast was delicious as well.  Mostly, the location was great within steps to a river cruise, restaurants and cafes.  We walked to the Little Mermaid, to Tivoli Gardens (longer walk) and the main shopping street, Stroget (stop at Royal Copenhagen store for Christmas ornament souvenir).  Also recommend Copenhagen Free Walking Tours. We hope to return next year (fingers crossed).

Bump

We will be arriving in Copenhagen Sept 1-5. Looking online and thru booking sites we found a very inexpensive hotel that has decent enough ratings and seems to be in a decent location

Next House Copenhagen

Anyone heard of this place? We booked a private room with a private bath for a very reasonable rate.

We also have points thru some credit card and we can book the Crown Plaza, Copenhagen Towers. A much nicer hotel but it seems to be sort of 'out of the loop'. If we were to book the latter, would that be a problem to get around?

To anyone in Copenhagen, what is open now. I thought I read that Tivoli Gardens is closed--is that temporary?

We were in Copenhagen about 7 years ago, but just for a port stop and this time we would love to get the really know the city.

Cheers

Len

Unfortunately, I do not know much about ‘Next House Copenhagen '- it is a very centrally located city hostel - primarily with four or six beds dorms, but also some small private double rooms.
Sparingly furnished and limited breakfast. There are several common facilities at the hostel.
