jsf Posted May 9, 2021 #27 Share Posted May 9, 2021 RCCL used to give out lists of pax when we started cruising 1991 and the early 90's, to tell the truth we never payed much attention to them.

It will be nice to know that someone we know is the cruise. Best regards, Manny & Lydia LI NY I mean if the CDC were to drop all covid protocol requirements in exchange for having a public list of people's names I'd think they'd be way more successful in curtailing demand.
neverbeenhere Posted May 9, 2021 #31 Share Posted May 9, 2021 Nope, don't need a list of passenger's names. Mrs Neverbeenhere and I would be very easy to locate. But, Why not include AGI for every statement also? BTW: The only time our cousins have cruised is when we've paid for them to go.

Best regards, Manny & Lydia LI NY Snark aside, perhaps in simpler times, this was of no consequence and people paid no attention to having their names in a list. But in today's world privacy is much more valuable than it once was. People also finds "incognito" traveling liberating, in a sense. People want to enjoy freely w/o worrying some friend or family or business associate could be looking for them in a cruise. Other people take on more adventurous endeavors and have no need or interest on anyone else knowing their full name or cabin #.

puerto penasco lady Posted May 9, 2021 #37 Share Posted May 9, 2021 As a single older lady who cruises solo, I would never agree to this. I don't give out my last name or cabin number for safety reasons. Brenda

smokeybandit Posted May 10, 2021 #42 Share Posted May 10, 2021 Passenger lists were fine back when it couldn't take 30 seconds to find out their birthdate, where they live now in lived in the past, and names of relatives.

cruiseguy1016 Posted May 10, 2021 #45 Share Posted May 10, 2021 We were on Freedom of the Seas on the pre-Covid cruise in March 2020. I was talking with my cousin a few months later and found out that she and her husband were on the same cruise. We never saw each other. I wish I had known they were on the ship with us. Dinglebert Posted May 10, 2021 #46 Share Posted May 10, 2021 Dreadful idea. If they want to do it then people would need to opt in but opt out. Would make the list even more pointless.
GJustice Posted May 10, 2021 #47 Share Posted May 10, 2021 I'd kind of like it. We were on a cruise a few years ago with friends from church. We found out as we were clearing out to disembark that their room was right down the hall from us. Hadn't seen them all week.
